Singapore Bees

Having recently relocated to Singapore, wondering if any there are any bees fans around here?

Watched a few games down Clarke quay already, wondering if we can get a few of us together for a game or two this season.

Drop me a pm / post in here, thanks .

Will be flying to Singapore in a couple of weeks time for a few days, but won't be there for a BEES game.

I will be in Tokyo for the Bournemouth game, but not expecting to see any BEES there? (2.30am screening ?)

Hi Mate, I also live in Singapore and help run an unofficial apac fan base. Happy to meet for a beer/game. Am currently away on business in US but back early March. Best way to reach me is whatsapp on +852 9100 8374. I'll add you to the apac Bees group too. Cheers. Phil Murton

Why don't you run an official one? You can get tickets that way should you ever need them

Spent 3 years living in Singapore 1980-83 (Oil & Gas job)
My house was on Bukit Timah Road
Office was located Depot Road
Spent 3 years playing for Singapore Cricket Club on The Padang.

And 3 Years playing for the SCC 3rd 11 Football Team which would
see a crowd of hundreds for home matches ?

A great country, safe as houses, excellent people
Went back in the mid 90s on a holiday, what a place it was.
That is how you run a country !

Absolutely - was there a few months back for work. Dare I say it since independence the transformation has been amazing. A wonderful country and everything just works, not to forget excellent educational and health services. V expensive if someone is planning to relocate but if you got the money would recommend to move out there.

The transformation in the last 30 years has been truly remarkable.

It will be interesting how the next 30 years goes now their exchange rate is 25% of what it was

Agree on this but Singapore would never had developed into a free market economy if it wasn't for independence. Yes there was upheaval in the first 20-25 years since independence but since the 1990s it's just been boom. They equally have taken advantage of the cheap labour from South Asian countries.

I can only see Singapore and quite a few countries in the Asia Pacific region continuing to transform whilst the west are left behind.

First went to Singapore 40 years ago and been back many times I was there last month so I have seen their impressive growth as a country. Some people say it’s a dictatorship run country but when you see the clean safe gum free pavements and excellent public transport you can only be envious.Vietnam Thailand Malaysia and others in the region are fast catching up with us.

In 2002, I had the task of setting up an office for our company in Singapore, so needed to deal with various Government departments. Everything was astonishingly easy, with a primary contact to lead the process. Yes, it’s a dictatorship but it’s a benevolent dictatorship – long may it continue. One of the most enjoyable places to be.

Agree with all this but think parts of the Asia pacific region have already passed Western countries in many aspects.
