It's probably cheaper for sky to get fan reaction then actual pundits and Fanalysis is owned by comedian Michael McIntyre and Gary Neville

Could be anyone representing the teams, including us.

Sometimes, it could be just out of work actors, anyone local to Sky studios offered a seat*, a Sky employee asked to sit there.
Then Sky could just give them a shirt from the ’wardrobe’ department.

* It seems unlikely that Sky have paid an all expenses sum to bring, for example, a Geordie supporter down to Isleworth just to sit there.

I agree that it should be someone, who is a true supporter and who is able to speak knowledgeably.
However, I think this audience is just there for the set, and not really expecting pearls of wisdom to come from them.

Also, age-wise they tend to look fairly unrepresentative of the wide range that go to football matches.
Some look like they’ve just been picked out of the local university, and given a Mcdonald’’s voucher for turning up.

Plus, I wouldn’t have thought that this group tick the diversity box.

Wouldn't surprise me if most of them are just Sky staff, they send people around asking every so often when they need people last minute or someone they've booked drops out.

Confession time. I'm a "Fanalyst". 😬 One of the original 11 chosen as a Brentford representative. It seems though that they've chosen only one or maybe two representatives of each club to go on Sky Sports regularly. I got the impression when we were first interviewed at a "casting session" that we would all get the chance to occasionally talk about our club but it’s always the same guy. I’ve never met him personally but he’s on the WhatsApp group we've got and he seems to be a really nice bloke.

To be honest, I’m a bit slack about doing my "Fanalysis" on the app each week but I usually get it done by the 24 hr deadline. I’m not too bothered whether I get on TV or not so I’ll just go along with it for now and keep rating the games.

Michael McIntyre is exactly as you’d imagine on the zooms that we’ve done and I’m not a fan, but there’s no doubting his enthusiasm for football. It’s early days yet so we’ll see.

They were desperate to have me, I didn't have an interview but they wanted me to meet MM. However it seems that the ones that get paid don't include the fans, so I don't see why anyone should bother tbh.

I think one or two of the Ealing Road podcast are on it too - because they have it in their profile.

I was told it was McIntyre's son, MM is lending his name to it of course.

Yeah Michael from the Ealing Rd Pod is in our group and yes, the original idea was by MM's son.

I don’t usually watch that programme so I have no idea but the guy in the picture is the one that has done post match comments on Sky Sports.

This was it if anyone wants to watch... but be warned, the Brentford chap just sits there like an NPC in a video game and there's no mention of Brentford besides Dave Jones' final throwaway line.



I thought the two ladies spoke the best about their clubs but I don't know why any normal fan (i.e. not a podcaster, YouTube vlogger or someone with skin in the game to be in the media) would choose to take part in programming like this.

The current culture around football media is toxic and dumbing down the mentality of fans, particularly the young ones who consume this culture on the regular. Having some outlandish take or slagging off other clubs for optics and engagement is the name of the game for self promotion and the growth of your "brand". That's why that nonce Rory Jennings has a platform.

Yeah, same here. Kept emailing me about it. MM provides the money and the son goes off on his little project by the looks of it.

Some of the above was my issue with it. The idea sounded good but then it felt like I was just being asked to do work for free.
