John Mac has made the statement that Wally will be remaining as Manager. Unfortunately, this statement was a reactive one as opposed to a proactive one and only revealed in the Chronicle on a week when we do not have a home game so the majority of fans will not see it.

We're in the sorry state we're in due to lack of money. The Exec Comm f*cked up massively by not adopting hardball with Noades in Dec '02/Jan '03 when they had the opportunity to call the shots. They also should not have taken over the running of the Club when they did due to the then current financial state. Nice blokes they may be but I'll never fathom how the hell they thought it could work with the figures the way they were and without them having experience at running either a business or a football club.

It is now becoming clear the opinions and views of the rank and file BU members and including those on the BU committee outside the "inner circle" count for nothing. Decisions are made by the "select few" which is why abee and I resigned as we could see no way that under the then and continuing structure they could influence the decision making process. That is why abee continually challenged Bish's pleas for fans to get involved with BU, get on the committee and "make a difference". Read Animal Farm again and understand that on the BU committee "Some are more equal than others".

A number of our most vociferous critics are now beginning to understand what happened and why.

Anyway, I pray that John Mac & Co will now see the light and now try and get the Club to pull together. An official statement should be made and released on the official web-site and in the programme on Saturday confirming that Wally is staying put and also containing one helluva rallying call so we can all forget whether Wally should go or not but concentrate on getting behind the team. We only have a few games left, it's Brentford and we're all hurting like crazy."

I was under the impression that Johns' kind of "strong" leadership was half of the problem? Unless you are advocating strong consensus leadship as opposed to deciding what to do behind closed doors?

witnessing any kind of "leadership" with BFC would be welcome actually !

I think the general consensus is that all we've had are a couple of people watching the figures and checking Bank statements.

Well, I think that probably sums up the situation very nicely.

Most people with a modicum of sense could have sorted out the finances. What has not been happening is keeping the core business alive. i.e the team. The ingredients (the players) are good) but the product itself (the team) is not satisying either the market or matching the competition. Basically the management mixing the ingredients to form the product is crap. The Board of any business that was not achieving market share or penetrating the market with its product would look at the reason why. Clearly the probem with team BFC can be identified as the Manager. So what do our Board do? Well for you of that are old enough, I refer to an ad run by the Nat West Bank in the late 70's early 80's.

It showed an ostrich dressed in a pin striped suit with its head firmy in a bucket of sand. Well you need look no further than the BFC Boardroom to see the current flock of ostriches!!!

Sorry agree with much of what you say but that is one statement I do not want to hear from McGlashan.

The only statement I want to hear him make about Downes is the one confirming he has left the club.

Can I again take this opportunity of thanking John and the other two of the BU members on the bfc board,,mine and many others sincerest congratulations in getting the team relegated in only your second season in charge.A fantastic acheivement, you were un lucky last season, you had a strong finish but couldt quite make the drop.I'll never forget what youve done to my club with " the " wrong decision , Im sure many 100's of others ,nay 1000's will join me in heart felt attribution to furthering our demise into division three.Whats the plans for 2004/2005 , gonna consolidate ,or go straight for the Conference in your first attempt ?

There is no reason we couldn't have done better this season on the same amount of money we've had.

There's nothing in itself wrong with that, we have been lacking in the side of the club that has needed a strong 'personality' to run things, it's hard to define really, there's been an ambiguity around the place that makes me feel uneasy a lot of the time. I'd rather really like someone or really hate someone, it's like the goodies and baddies have been scripted out of the BFC pantomime.
