Campbell is too expensive to be a third choice centre back, and you would think his best days are a long way behind him.

Arsenal can splash a bit of cash on a decent central defender and dramatically improve their squad.

With all due respect to Arsenal he can take his pick of clubs throughout Europe and I don't think they would be at the top of his list.

Portsmouth have confirmed that Sol Campbell will sign for them later on Tuesday, subject to agreeing terms.
Campbell had a medical at Fratton Park on Monday, with a view to signing what BBC Sport understands is a one-year contract with a further year's option.

Spot On, he probably asked for a new contract and Arsene said you will be lucky to be in the squad !!

Was supposed to be a tottenham fan !

It was the way he carried out that last year of his contract, repeatedly announcing his desire to stay, saying the contract was going to get sorted, 'loving' Spurs. And all along he was moving to Arsenal, of all teams.

It stank at the time.

i don't know him (but does anyone), I was not impressed by the Notts County situation, what did he think, all teams train in 5* conditions and have their pants washed for them?

I think he knew all that beforehand ..but he was enticed by promises of being part of building a club into something then realised (some time before everybody else) that it was in fact more of a "boiler room" scenario.
