**** wayfarer - please don't rip stuff like this off wholesale from someone else. I'm sure you wouldn't want them to steal from you. Use a link ***

So what does this mean for BFC exactly?

Are you allowed just to cut and paste this stuff or are you meant to source the website? Need to delete until Umondo or  confirm.

According to the Observer it is worth around £68k for the Bees :computer:

No - the GPG does not condone theft, including copyright theft.

Don't tell me......this has already been anticipated as a "windfall" in the budget that has either been adopted by BFC... or not as the case may be....and in any event has either been or not been approved by Bees United (feel free to choose whichever version keeps your breakfast down) although it has been discussed (and jolly lucky they were to be allowed to do that I might tell you) because it hasn't yet been finalized....or it most certainly has.......depending upon whether you are a board member of the subsidiary or the holding company.......and furthermore whatever you make of it......it's all good news..........:bound: :bound: :bound:

They don't owe us anything really though so I think it is fair enough. They should get rid of parachute payments though.. means only teams that have already been there can compete really :nono: I know there are always exceptions ie. Derby

The Observer said:
At the moment, the basic award payment for each Championship club is £1m. Clubs in League 1 and 2 receive £375,000 and £265,000 each respectively.

The Observer said:
All clubs in League One would have been paid £103,480, and those in the basement division £68,987.

so did we/will we get £68,987, or £265,000 or £68,987 + £265,000 or none of the above?!!

or maybe substitute £68,987 for £103,480 as we were in league one last season......

Solidarity Package

Maybe that is over four years or something?

My understanding wat that we already got £265,000 ( ) and will be getting an additional £68,000ish

That's what they're saying on SSN. Not sure what it'll actually mean to BFC, or if we'll get any extra as part of the 90 million its supposed to be for youth development/community schemes.

Its a move in the right direction although it seems that by linking the money to youth development the PL are feathering the nests they are going to plunder anyway...

close to 1/4 million pounds, youth development...........this is all ringing a bell!
Is this the money that GD spoke about? or am I being a bit thick and slow?

"Split-paid late in August and some time in January"

Hopefully before the transfer window.

Big deal.......£69K an average weekly wage for a lot of Prem stars......
Pro-tip: We're not in the Premiership and if you were on the board and turning your nose up at any money I'd question your motives.

I thought it said next season! Do they mean the coming season or 2008/9

:fishing:

The coming season is also next season  as until August the 11th ko's we are in the closed season and only in training for next season. ;)

The board anticipating even more cash, surely not!!!

the monies been budgeted for already no doubt in their, 'windfall income 2007/2008', but that has already been used to pay off Hill, Farrar and not forgetting winnie. :fishing: :D

So in one week John Terry gets double what the Premier League are tossing off to us for a whole season and we are "grateful".Don't you just love the professional game!

Admittedly it's taking the piss, but this money does pay a player's wages and god knows we need players.

Does it though? The way I read it was that the Premier League wanted this invested in youth academies, presumably so that League clubs can develop players and lose them for a pittance to the Premiership clubs at some later stage.

Solidarity Package

It could be argued that anything below the Championship is an unofficial youth academy.
There are just so many discrepancies between the way money is dished out at the top level and the pisstake everyone else gets.
Also: What say does the Premier League have in the way the money it donates to the Football League? It seems to me that they're happy to stay out of affairs and seperate themselves from the Football League when it suits them yet if what you say is true and this money comes with conditions, the football pyramid is working incorrectly. The money should be coming from the FA, not the Premier League.
As I said earlier in the thread, this is no charitable money trickling downwards, it's a very cheap investment along the lines of L1 and L2 youth being groomed for Premier League and bigger Championship teams to buy. Miles cheaper than buying players or running another reserve or youth side and when the time's right they throw £200k-odd at a team and more often than not they'll be desperate enough to take the money. It's a load of ****ing b***ocks. I'd say the problem is about 3/4s of L1 and L2 clubs can't afford to fight or in any way question the conditions attached to this money, so we basically have to take the money and make nice while our talent is regularly stolen for a relative pittance. Keeps teams like ours from ever getting anywhere near the top flight without risking closure through overspending.
