I was spending £60 to come down from Manchester in those days, now I’m spending about £100 to come from Leeds, bit more faff about getting a ticket to see us play Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool etc than Wrexham, Chesterfield, Wycombe etc but can honestly say the buzz is EXACTLY the same.
Yeah don’t get me wrong, I’m not underplaying the amazing seismic shift that has happened. But I don’t think we need to be the plucky “just happy to be here” either.

Loved Ron Noades. Took our club on, signed absolute quality that was far to big for this league. Turned us into the Barcelona of the lower leagues. Tried to buy Western International market and build a 250,000 capacity stadium there - who needs jeans and leather 'Fonz' bomber jackets anyway? While at the same time ripping off that poor sod Mark Wotsit at Crystal Palace. Then announced it wasn't his money and that we actually owed £7 trillion quid. Thought a bit less of the old c*** at that stage. ?
I might have said this elsewhere previously, apologies if so but my memory isn't what it once was. But before a game against Barnet, Terry gave an interview and stated how desperate he was to win because he knew what this derby meant to us supporters. It was at that point that I suspected quite strongly that he didn't really get Brentford.
Agree but make those the darker days of the late 60’s and 70’s (Everitt era was horrible)
