I think the council limits their capacity to 10k because of the atrocious access. So they will have to pay to get the road upgraded before they can develop I guess.

I do not think it is a case of just upgrading Hillbottom Road, the current sole means of access. They need to create a secondary/alternative means of access. My understanding was that to increase the capacity further they therefore had to build a new road. This would, apparently, mean cutting through the hill from the secondary car park that is currently in the field behind the main (not the large) stand. this would then link in to an existing road that runs behind the hill. The likely cost could run in to £millions, not forgetting the environmental lobby and losing green and pleasant land! Then, of course, they've still got to fund the expansion of the stadium.

I've never heard of buses being a problem at Adams Park, there's one every 15 minutes running up to the games from the train station.

The access is indeed atrocious - but as you say, the cost of a new access road from the back end of the stadium would be prohibitive.

There has been talk of a possible move to an area which is more convenient for motorway access, and even a bit nearer the town centre. This remains pie in the sky for the time being, though, and it'd only be necessary should we ever get promotion and the gates increase to near the 10,000 mark.

Needless to say, that's not that likely.

PS the new WWFC sponsors are loans.co.uk, so we now have an unsightly yellow blob with their logo on for next year's kit.

:D:D Did the club fall out with Verco or something I thought their owner was the chairman.

I think Verco still have sponsor hoardings with us, and no, the chairman doesn't own them.

Last season the legendary (?) Integrity Software signed up to a three-year deal for shirt sponsorship, but they got taken over and therefore dropped out after one year - doh.

The current irritation is about our new stadium sponsors, Causeway Software, making the stadium be renamed The Causeway Stadium as of the coming season. Needless to say, the fans will continue to call it Adams Park.

or

The Addams Family Park - bearing in mind the way some of your supporters look ?

The sh*thole - not a real stadium like ours ! :D

The ground nearest to the White Horse

Where Wasps play - similar standard/style, plenty of "hoof it"

Wycombe Wanderers personify exactly what a cosy little non-league Club should be !

how can Brentford criticise any other team for hoofball ? That's certainly what you tried in our most recent encounter - the only thing being you couldn't pull it off.

And if a 'non-league mentality' means paying your players a pittance, averaging about 6,000 per game and being mid-table then you need look no further than your very own team.

Bee H casts a line out and the_wwfc doth biteth !

We didn't turn up for our most recent encounter

Get yerself down the White Horse and chill out, there's a good little boy ! :) See you on the 15th Nov, hope you're still doing Balti Pies ?

no temper, just pointing out some facts ! :) anyhoo, since I live a lot nearer to your (ahem) 'real ground' than Wycombe, the White Horse is a bit far.

well, not the taped drumming, but we do have a drummer at most games (home and away) who does at least seem to succeed in winding up the opposition (the only slight minus being that he winds us up too.. ).

So why support "Wickham" if you live nearer to Griffin Park - it was bad enough my mate being in goal for you lot for years instead of a real Football Club without local support disappearing up the M40 :(

born near Wycombe, lived there for 18 years. And QPR are nearer to me than you lot anyway (the Gooners nearer still) if I were to adopt a London team.

Please do not ever use the incorrect spelling of Wycombe when referring to that sh*te football club down the A40, it's bad enough having a surname that sounds alike without you spelling it the same way

Terrace legend has it that the first time we played you at your ground a couple of likely lads had a bet as to who could punch the drummer first after the game...one of the lads won that bet...
