For how much longer after todays news?
They've known about Barratts involvement for some time. I don't think they entered the process as this could have been a conflict of interest as their West London CEO is Chairman of the Community Trust.
St George do great work for the Trust so I don't see a problem.

That may be the case, but I can't see St George sticking around while Barratts build around them.
It may be that St George prove me wrong. I don't think they will.

I disagree with you. St George have been involved with the Community Sports Trust for a long time (before it was a Trust and just the FiC programme). I could be wrong but in my opinion they stepped in to help the club out by sponsoring the shirts when GMB pulled out at short notice. When the club secured a better sponsorship for the shirts they continued to support the Community Sports Trust. Evidence that they are committed to the Community Sports Trust
The relationship between the Community Sports Trust and St George is not in my opinion effected by anything that BFC do.
The Trust and St George should be congratulated on their relationship as it has helped many young people in the West of London experience a diverse range of sports that otherwise they would not have had accsess to. Long may it continue.

Not a Griffin Park property deal, no. That's not being naive either. St George are displaying community involvement by being stakeholders in the local area. I don't think the council would engage with them as much if they did not do so.
If they just went around slapping up flats without this you might find some of their applications being refused.

I agree with your first part although I do believe there is more to it than just that. They are also exercising thiier corporate social responsibilty.
The second part I could question though as they didn't stop their involvement with the sports trust when they failed to get planning permission first time around for the Scottish Widow site next to Kew Bridge.They did continue to support the Trust in starting up the Canoe/boat club under the arches at Kew Bridge again after failure to get planning they could of put it all on hold until they did get planning if that was there only motive.

I find it odd that a residential developer will get involved in a local football club, that conveniently gets planning consent for residential development on its site and doesn't want to get a slice of the action.
They came on board at a convenient time, our shirt sponsership deal had gone to the wall and we were looking to get planning consent for the residential redevelopment of GP and hey presto, up steps our new shirt sponsor, a Twickenham based residential developer.
Maybe I'm being to suspicious and St George will carry on with FITC for many many years to come, long after our move to The New Griffin Park built by Barratts.
They came on board at a convenient time, our shirt sponsership deal had gone to the wall and we were looking to get planning consent for the residential redevelopment of GP and hey presto, up steps our new shirt sponsor, a Twickenham based residential developer.

Maybe it's because they like the work that the Community Trust does, they believe in it and they want to support it financially.

Indeed, time will tell.
Their involvement with BFC may predate any GP planning consent, but it does not predate the very public desire of BFC to move out of GP to a modern stadium. Leaving GP as a prime piece of West London real estate.
