Actually I think they've got it right.

When WHU moved in, the capacity for football was 57k (66k for other sports), but they wanted to increase it to 60k for their games:

The official attendance for Saturday's game v Spurs (normally a sell-out) was 56,988, but the shortfall may have been down to security/segregation issues?

Well I would say the columns are incorrectly headed. It's a list of stadiums by reducing capacity. The division columns are irrelevant as the actual division is stated next to the club. Am I missing something?

They've ranked them by size so the top 20 capacity would be the Premier league if that's how it was required to be eligible etc

Chester was the highest as I remember. Don't remember how many for Crewe.

80's we used to get our lowest crowds. Improved a little late 80's

December 27th 1971 promotion season from Div IV 1-0 v Crewe 18,200.

Not sure what the actual capacity was then, still 30,000+ I think. Was great to be able to change ends at half time so you were always behind the goal that the Bees were kicking towards.

A more accurate measure would probably be listing clubs by turnover/annual income - it would be a better reflection of how each club uses the resources at its disposal. I've not seen that list anywhere though I expect we would still be somewhere in "League one". Deloitte's football money league uses this measure although that's a comparison of the top 30 clubs globally.

Then why are clubs like Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs, who already have decent capacities, spending hundreds of millions to extend or rebuild with even bigger capacities?

Why are Everton and Bournemouth looking to move completely?

Why did WHU further increase their capacity after one season in Stratford?

It is a myth to imagine that TV money has basically made other revenue streams irrelevant.

It's a scale thing. With 12k tv money more significant at 50k less so. Plus tv money not cover bills with each player on 50k a week in prem. So need ticket revenue.
