Staff changes at BFC ???

In his programme notes yesterday, MA states ;

"On Monday I will be announcing some staff changes that I believe will be for the benefit of the Football Club, short term and most definitely long term"

Ooh err Missus !

Staff changes at BFC ???

see my posting re Andy Legg, reckon he is bringing in a player coach who can do a job for us for at least part of the season before becoming a full time coach, this could well be Andy Legg although as others have posted there are some other senior pros who are looking to start coaching.
In my opinion a midfielder might be a better bet as without Talbot there is little creativity, he is an unsung hero doing the little bits and pieces whilst creating space for the more attacking players, it is no coincidence that we have looked poor in our last 2 games. Hargreaves role is a destroyer and whilst Talbot does that as well he is more likely to make the 6 yard pass that will lead to something. On that basis cover for him is essential and a senoor pro who has played in that role would be ideal., however my money is on Legg !¬!!!!!

well Jay Smith must have been earning a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!

One hopes that somebody somewhere is managing the books at the club, mind you the way money is being spent "fiddling them" might be a better option, i hope that we will not live to regret some of the signings that have been made, fine if we get promotion or enjoy a succesful cup run but if we dont......... May is getting closer and closer.

Where's the money coming from...?

...Geoff Taylor's gone, John Griffin has gone part-time and remember both of these two came in the Noades days so no doubt their salaries were pretty vast.

If it is someone like Andy Legg, they'd do a good job in the short-term ie this season and then take on the youth job solely next year. The cost of employing someone like that would probably take the chunk of Griffin's salary that's been saved - and that still leaves Taylor's salary as a saving.

cant see andy legg coming as player coach 4 2 reasons. firstly being that he must be on more money than the bees would even think of offering him and secondly he's always stated at posh that he has one more seaon in him and going by his appearances this season i wouldnt put above any of our 1st eleven.

anyway he's been player coach at posh this season and how are they doing?

playing and coaching can it work?

Maybe Fitzgerald's injury is bad and it'll be better for him to go part-time coach with the youth team, he already does some stuff for the academy I believe.

Except Martin's already spent all the money that was saved on our playing staff.

I would thought it could be an internal promotion, say Scott Fitzgerald as youth coach alongside Barry Quin. But then again, that doesn't really explain the short term benefits to this internal restructuring since Scotty is already signed up. Gazza?

No news yet? :fishing:

Could it be he's laughing because he knows something you don't, and why didn't JM tip you off at half time interview? ;)

ahhhh the addiction expert is on the ball again.

Does JM write MA's programme notes? Or are you trying the "deflect and divert" tactic?

Staff changes at BFC ???

I hope the staff at BFC didn't have to read about this potential reorganisation in the programme. I'm sure they were ALL aware of it beforehand.

The only thing I read at the match beforehand is about the Blackpool team. Read the rest on Saturday night whilst watching Rod Stewart on TV :D

Judging by the rumour floating around earlier I'm glad it's not more major news.

Well done Barry Quin, this man has shown his loyalty to the club. He deserves to bee rewarded, he must be good if MA rates him. Good luck Barry.

It's not actually mentioned in the statement on the site but I take it Scott is retiring from playing at the end of the season?

Staff changes at BFC ???

apparently there were two other applicants

Mr M Jackson
Mr J King

but both declined the job offer they were given when they found out it was with the 16 - 18 year olds as all there experience was with younger children

( lol )

Staff changes at BFC ???

I would have thought he probably will retire as he wouldn't be able to maintain full-time training for himself. I presume that's why MA is having a good look at young Jerome Sobers between now and the end of the season?
