And we've got a bigger budget than the Dongs now too.
I'm not sure you can say that... it could be that MKDongs have spent all theirs and we haven't.

Did he come on as a result of Spillane getting injured or was it tactical?

Maybe he will start against B'muff.

Injury to Spillane.

Injury to Spillane.

He didn't look like he wanted to come off. It was a slight knock but nothing to stop him from playing on. I reckon AS wanted to give his new signing a game, like at Swindon when Simpson was playing well, but Scott substituted him in the second half to give Adams his debut.

Looked average last night, no attacking ideas at all and a lot of hoofs in the 2nd half to knowbody

I thought he did quite well against a tricky Muff winger. His distribution wasn't great but he wasn't alone in that.

Their best player was their left sided player and so hi sattacking options became limited, however stuck to his task well imho.

Looks a good player, and still hasnt played for a while.
So im glad we have him as back up

Stephen Wright on trial

I thought he looked quite solid defensively

Stephen Wright on trial

I think on a poor performance all round he seemed very solid, maybe a bit slow but got stuck in and seems to take quite a good throw!!

Stephen Wright on trial

Solid performance nothing spectacular, added some much needed experience to the backline. Given it was his first full game for us a good start.

Stephen Wright on trial

I thought it was a solid performance, especially as it was his first competitive start for a while.

Look towards the end of the game when he stood strong against that lump Fletcher and the ball went out for a goal kick. A lot of players would have been bullied by Fletchers presence in that situation.

Lack of pace and distribution were questionable but we have to remember his lack of match time and fitness

:scratch:lol Your drivel cracks me up.The best player for Bournemouth was the left winger and he stopped him from being a major threat

I honestly wonder what games people on here watch !

Stephen Wright on trial

he ought to be first choice ahead of Spillane at right back. Spillane is better on right wing and dodgy in defence. Wright has played right back at higher levels after all

Stephen Wright on trial

One of the few positives from last nights game.Hope he gets a run in the side.

Yeah , i like Spillane but the idea of a proper right back like Wright appeals.

Amen to that. I thought he looked like there was a lot more to come. Give him two or three games to get up to match speed, and i think we might have a bit of a winner on our hands.

Spillane has got to be first choice RB hasnt he ?

always think that Spillane looks like a winger playing out of position at right back...i.e. coping rather than playing his natural position, he doesn't inspire confidence there.

Wright is a specialist right back who has played in Europe, Premiership, Championship (captained Coventry last year) and looks a bit more solid if less exciting.

It should be a good opportunity to free up Spillane to play right wing where he has looked very good.

Spillane has been brilliant after a shakey start.

Not sure what he offers that Spillane doesn't??

I know Wright got the assist today, but I think we've really missed Spillane pushing forward in the last couple of games. Spillane did not deserve to be dropped, especially after being a key part of the side that almost beat Birmingham.

Personally I'm happy to have Wright ax cover for Spillane who I believe is fit again and I would imagine will be back in the starting X1 vs Franchise

Stephen Wright on trial

Prefer Spillane without a doubt

He looked very solid in the last 2 games. Perhaps not as attacking as Spillane, but clearly a very experienced RB challenger for the position.

I don't think Spillane has lost his place, he has a knock. All we need now is a serious left back to challenge Woodman.

Left back ? Really? Wood did well there at end of last season, Pim can play there too and we've got highly rated Bush and Blake coming through.

We don't need a new left back as Woodman has been one of our most consistent players this season.

Thought for someone who hasnt played much this season and is fitting into a new team against a very fast and tricky winger he did vey well. A good addition to the squad imo.

I am so impressed with Craig Woodman, he easily been our best signing so far this season. However he doesn't have anyone to challenge for the position, and Scott has his '2 players for every place' rule. Wood did very well there last season, but I dont think it is his best position. Only as emergency cover anyway.

If Woodman gets injured (it is possible) then it would be nice to have a natural LB to cover him.

:backtotopic:

But anyway, Wright looked very experienced to me and will provide a good challenge to Spillane. Needs to get forward more though.

Pim can play left back and did so for Ipswich if needed.
