Stephen Wright on trial
I'm not sure you can say that... it could be that MKDongs have spent all theirs and we haven't.And we've got a bigger budget than the Dongs now too.

Injury to Spillane.
Looked average last night, no attacking ideas at all and a lot of hoofs in the 2nd half to knowbody
I thought he stuck to the game plan well.

One of the few positives from last nights game.Hope he gets a run in the side.
Yeah , i like Spillane but the idea of a proper right back like Wright appeals.

he ought to be first choice ahead of Spillane at right back. Spillane is better on right wing and dodgy in defence. Wright has played right back at higher levels after all

Spillane has got to be first choice RB hasnt he ?
always think that Spillane looks like a winger playing out of position at right back...i.e. coping rather than playing his natural position, he doesn't inspire confidence there.
Wright is a specialist right back who has played in Europe, Premiership, Championship (captained Coventry last year) and looks a bit more solid if less exciting.
It should be a good opportunity to free up Spillane to play right wing where he has looked very good.
Spillane has been brilliant after a shakey start.
looks like a really solid signing to me. Pushes forward well, reads the game well.
Prefer Spillane without a doubt
He looked very solid in the last 2 games. Perhaps not as attacking as Spillane, but clearly a very experienced RB challenger for the position.
I don't think Spillane has lost his place, he has a knock. All we need now is a serious left back to challenge Woodman.
Not sure what he offers that Spillane doesn't??

Left back ? Really? Wood did well there at end of last season, Pim can play there too and we've got highly rated Bush and Blake coming through.
We don't need a new left back as Woodman has been one of our most consistent players this season.

I am so impressed with Craig Woodman, he easily been our best signing so far this season. However he doesn't have anyone to challenge for the position, and Scott has his '2 players for every place' rule. Wood did very well there last season, but I dont think it is his best position. Only as emergency cover anyway.
If Woodman gets injured (it is possible) then it would be nice to have a natural LB to cover him.
But anyway, Wright looked very experienced to me and will provide a good challenge to Spillane. Needs to get forward more though.
