Can anyone tell me if this former great player is injuried or why he's not playing at the moment ?

Really looking forward to my first BFC match at Griffin Park, since a home match vs Cheltenham a few years back..lost 0-2 and a terrible match...simply cannot wait to have a few pints in the Griffin and see the mighty Bees play again...

He was on the bench v Colchester but wasn't used, then wasn't in the squad at Notts Co despite us only having 6 subs. I don't know if he was injured or ill, or if he's been told that he's not being retained and should start looking for a club. Has never looked quite good enough, which has largely been the story of his career: I remember him looking lost at Liverpool and embarrassingly bad at Sunderland, but hoped Lge One might be his level. He's adequate at our level, but no better, so not one to keep.

Enjoy your match Saturday. I think you may enjoy the Griffin more than the match, as we look likely to miss a lot of players through injury

Because hes been nothing short of poor, and his face has scared off various young children thus reducing our future supporters base

Oh and enjoy the game, always nice to see the bees have fans all over the world

women refused to come back go GP when he played as he is so ugly.

Surely that's been photoshopped.

Stephen Wright

I thought it was a picture of the FA Cup?

Thanks, been over for more than 25 Bees matches home and away but been a little short on money and with family and job it's difficult to find time but
really looking forward to my trip over..

Poor sod, not sure he deserves all this sh1t. Yeah he has been poor but he has had a tough season if you think about it. He is still a Bee at the end of the day and has played an important role in the changing room even if he hasnt done much on the park.

Stephen Wright

One of AS's strangest signings.

If you saw him at Daggers you could see his League career is probably over.

Stephen Wright

To be fair to him he was excellent at Southampton

Only a little. The nose has been straightened a bit, a few teeth have been replaced and a second ear has been added .

It's the way forward. No longer will there be any scapegoats in any football ground where the Bees are playing. This banter will all be confined to on here!!

Had an interesting barny with NF @ the training ground yesterday, not sure what it was about though....

NF had to repeatedly ask Wright to take a gargoyle halloween mask off, whilst Wright denied even wearing it.

His performance at aldershot was irredeemable, he cannot and has not come back from that display. Don't care that he has won the Fairs Cup or something, Coventry don't release their captains on flyers transfers unless something has gone wrong with him. Sorry Mr Wrong, good luck at Rotherham.

Don't care that he has won the Fairs Cup or something, Coventry don't release their captains on free transfers unless something has gone wrong with him. For that reason I am out. Sorry Mr Wrong, you are younger than me & have same name as my favourite american comic, but good luck at Rotherham.

He was a bit poop but it wasn't a lack of effort

Stephen Wright

I didn't think he was the worst RB in the world, he was obviously experienced, but past his best and no better than Kev or Spillane (or Neilson).

Good luck to him at Rotherham, I think he could do a job at league 2 level.

Stephen Wright

I didn't understand why he was signed in the first place at a time when Spillane was on form. Generally his performances weren't good enough (culminating in a woeful display at Dagenham), but he was superb at St Mary's against Southampton.

AllWright at the back !
What is a hot spot NOT :dog:

HOT

good riddence Big Ears. not fit to wear the shirt. go back to your "champions" league. you were the first big sign that AS had lost his marbles.

well done BFC.

Bit unnecessary mate. He may have been passed his best but he had to train in the local park to stay fit for half a season and gave it his best shot when he came to us.

Don't understand the vicious unpleasantness you feel the need to show,

Stephen Wright

So who made the decision to let him go??............

Stephen Wright

was that picture of him photoshopped? the buzz lightyear/Fa Cup one? if not, then jeez, i doubt he'll ever need a super-injunction...

Stephen Wright

The BFC Exec team.

we don't need a manager then if a bird continues to makes good decisions regarding the playing staff like this. #cherielunghi

apologies. you are probably right. i guess he was just slow like a milk float rather than a complete gutless bottler like other players, probably tried his best. i have just scapegoated him for us not winning the Cup last year as he was so poor at Aldershot away. sorry mhead & bigears. :kingkev:

The BFC Exec team.

Ta.
Would this same team also be in a position to offer a deal if a favourable player were to become available? Or would this only be the prerogative of the new manager?

Stephen Wright

Thought he has a good footballing brain, decent enough skills and a good attitude but sadly his legs no longer good enough at this level or possibly even Div 2.

Dagenham was a nightmare for him.

Can see him popping up in BSP and doing OK.

Never knew why we signed him or why Spillaine fell out of favour so much with AS or NF, when he played in the pre season friendlies I thought we were going to build a team around him....

Stephen Wright

Love the fact that the BBC didn't mention at all that he had a spell with us.

Apparently he left Coventry at the end of last season, and not the season before.

You've got to feel for those ears in that North East wind.
