Steve Evans

I was hoping that Warbs would leave out the meet up after the game for a drink comment in the program.

Who'd want to meet up for a drink with that? Unless it was at his wake.

Steve Evans

I think he is good entertainment.
Football needs characters and without the likes of him who would we be able to insult.

Steve Evans

He'll do himself a mischief one day, the fourth official should get paid overtime for Rotherham games.

Steve Evans

Just listened to his interview on the Rotherham site....claims his 3 new signings would walk into the Bees side and we have spent £10 million on transfers,
Do their fans really swallow his bullshit?

Steve Evans

Has described Button's save as the "save of the season". Have to agree with him there.

Steve Evans

If mb didnt support us and we were back to the 4k max support he would be better than scott, ross, butch

Steve Evans

Just heard Evans interview after today's game. He, believe it or not, said that his team 'outplayed and outpassed Brentford.' I then look at Sky sports website that tells me they completed 173 passes, and we completed 437 passes. It also says we had 65.6% possession. What this does is confirms what we already knew, that is that Evans obviously cannot see past that massive gut of his and that he hasn't got a f**king clue what he's talking about.

To be fair, their passes were a lot longer than ours.

Steve Evans

I don't particularly like the bloke but respect what he's done as a manager, particularly with Crawley and Rovrum. Of course he's talking bollox with his statements about 'outpassing and outplaying', but this is what many managers do now, to deflect blame from them and protect their players. How many times did Fergie talk about dominating games when Man U were off-colour, to build them up and put a positive spin on it? Mourinho does the same kind of things and we all sit and watch and think 'Are they deluded or mental? That's not the game I've just seen'. Much as it would be nice for all managers to say it as they see it, it ain't gonna happen.

I found it quite amusing today as he and and his assistant looked like they were due a coronary as they piled into the 4th official in the 2nd half. He his his customary 'shirt tuck, trouser hoist' as well - always good to see. Comedy moment too, as the ball sailed over Braemar Road, and his assistant shanked a new ball on to the playing area with the worst kick ever. Evans did afford a chuckle at that, which wasn't lost on New Road.

Steve Evans

We got away with it up there and nicked it down here according to Evans.

No points for them, we got 6 funny that. Evans doesn't do "gracious" in defeat. Grays 1 on 1, Jotas blaze over, Pritchard off the post and Douglas shot from Torals through ball 2nd half 4-1 might have been nearer the truth.

You can fool some of the people some of the time but Rovrum will play League 1 football again before we do.

Steve Evans

Really disappointed that the clown's trousers didn't fall any lower than half-mast ............ no style whatsoever.

Steve Evans

Just read that the tub of lard has signed 24 players since Wembley. Quality over quantity reflects in our league positions...

Steve Evans

Does he know about a new striker we have just signed, and hasn't been announced on our OS site yet?

Steve Evans

If mb didnt support us and we were back to the 4k max support he would be better than scott, ross, butch

He would not have been here.

Only goes if money is involved.

You insult managers who have managed us without a pot to pee in and that fat **** would have been no where near us.

Steve Evans

The lard ball kept us new roaders amused today as he got redder and redder in the face as the game went on.

Steve Evans

Thanks for the six points this season, Steve.

Steve Evans

In my predictions I stated Evans would be moaning from start to finish and if they lost would say they were the better side.
I must be a mystic?

Those predictions were about as likely as the next Pope being Catholic. ;)

Steve Evans

who would you want though as your manager if you were in the bottom six, Holloway who heaps praise on the opposition or Evans who heaps praise on how own team? At the end of the day he doesn't care what we think, his audience are his players and fans. Good luck to him, like to see a bit of character.

Steve Evans

I agree. I think Warbs would be completely out of his depth in the bar alongside this guy. On second thoughts, he did work in the city, didn't he?

Steve Evans

He would not have been here.

No he was not here, good, i wouldn't want him either. The point is he would out perform them on a point per pound basis.
Other than the goal today, singing you fat bas**** was the champagne moment.

He does a decent job though, he talks crap for the greater cause of the team/club.

I would have Warbs every time as he has class but we are now in a unique situation.

Steve Evans

...............deluded gross fool...............

Steve Evans

He really is a despicable human being, I wish him nothing but failure in his sad buffet lonely life.

Steve Evans

so why did Evans' refuse to shake Simon Royce hand at the end?

Steve Evans

Evans is under pressure.
He knows his team are short on quality but probably feels the bluster helps instil some belief in both
the dressing room and the board room.

It's horrible to read, but is it really any different than Brian Clough taking the wayward Kenny Burns out of Birmingham City
reserves and telling him he was the best centre-back in the world. It's all a belief thing. It works with some players.
Within weeks Burns was on slimline tonic and playing the best football of his life.

Steve Evans

Is it just me or has he gained?

Can't believe this thread. Never thought Bees fans would exhibit such appalling fatist behaviour. May seem funny to some but if you had to carry over 20 Stone around with you through no fault of your own you wouldn't be so keen to take the piss. You try sitting on a seat in the New Rd. You try having a piss in the bogs whilst there's two people on either side of you tutting & moaning because they're "off centre". No chance of a crap because even if you could get through the door, you'd never be able to fit on the seat. God help you if you're hungry. Daren't get a burger because you know you'll be stared at. Some of you need to have a good look at yourselves tonight & think how lucky you are. So shocked.

lollollol get to bed Steve

Steve Evans

I tried a similar comment on the "homophobic chants" thread, and somebody boarded the offended bus.

Steve Evans

I have now conducted a detailed analysis of his comments from his post match interview and his Veracity Score is extremely low!

If Steve Evans didn't act the way he did no one would be having a dig at him. He brings this on himself, if he was slim we'd still be acting in the same way about his demeanour.

If his team were any other team in this division they would have taken advantage in the first half and been a couple of goals up. It's like Evans told them "If you get within 30 yards of their goal, from whatever angle you are at, whack it goalward! Put your laces through it boys!" Stupidly wasteful and they can't have a go at us for that. If they'd been more clinical and logical in what they did it wouldn't have given us the opportunity to play the way we did in the second half and more than deserve the win in the end.

Cardiff, Forest etc tell us 'man for man we'd like their players' and now Evans says the same. Maybe we're ok actually thanks….

Thankfully, we were spared his obese, sweating mass on TV Saturday bemoaning his teams bad luck. I have seen him on the FLS or BBC sports clips on a handful of occasions and it always seems to take the form of "You saw that, we were the better side and my team are in the dressing room now knowing we should have 3 points and we've got none." Then follows a diatribe bemoaning the officials and how unfair that his side have had no decisions go their way at all this season. Usually when challenged about either the poor result or performance of players he turns and becomes aggressive having a pop at interviewer and shows himself for the bully he really is. I think he believes attack to be the best form of defence but if he really believes two Huddersfield reserves are the answer to his prayers and would walk into our side he's sadly deluded. In fairness Ward was so fat I suspect he'd struggle to manage more than a gentle jog and think that Blobby is about to well and truly found out at this level and that the second half of this season will be tougher than the first.
It is not sufficient to set up like an army side and to just be fit, quick, strong and combative at this level. You need a blend of steel and style and in my opinion they're lacking in the latter and can't see them acquiring anytime soon.

Steve Evans

Always remember after they beat us last season at GP walking out of Braemar Rd past the Rovrum team bus and a car pulled up beside to deliver about fifteen pizzas to one of his Evans assistants. I said to him that's the gaffer sorted out but what are the rest of the team eating on the way home. He did have a wry smile.

"Through no fault of your own" rofl

Yep, every day Evans goes into the canteen, orders a Salad, then finds out they've sold out and have nothing left but deep-fried lard sandwiches. With chips.

Steve Evans

A\t the end of last season after the playoffs had finished, there were many on here moaning that this Evans guy was making all these signings before we had made more than one or two.

That we were missing out on good players that he was signing ???

Would any of you guys really change managers ?? Would you change owners ??? To be fair the club has a new ground and lots of people have put in a lot of time and effort including money to get where they have but we are so much more on another planet when it comes to looking long term.

In the owner and manager and their teams we trust.

I couldnt believe people were getting worried at that point. As I was thinking and am sure commented at the time they were all failed championship/league one players who were never going to amount to anything. Only one I thought might be ok was Loach as he was highly rated a while back. Adam Collin is ****ing abysmal. The fact Colin is still playing says it all

Steve Evans

Holloway - decent football fans who know how good or bad their team is can tell when their manager is talking rubbish about their own team and don't mind a sensible positive comment about the opposition if it is fair and not an excuse for substandard performance by their own team. Talking reasonably about the opposition makes the praise you give your own players more meaningful - players know when they've had a mare and when they've come up against better players and despite their best efforts not been able to overcome them. Fair-minded fans do too. What credibility among Rotherham fans and players can Evans have when saying that his team outplayed and outpassed a team which had nearly double the possession and completed passes?

Steve Evans

The guy on the left looks familiar, a bit on the large size so probably a paddock lardy. lol
