Pompey have released Steve Stone, not offering him a new contract (he is a tad miffed too). OK so he is 33, but he could give us some serious crossing ability, with only really Tabby doing it right now, and then not always.

Fair comments the both, but MA has shown us that he is good at blending youth and experience. I accept though that Stone will probably get snapped up by a tier 2 club, so probably just nothing more than idle speculation anyway.

He's been terrific for Pompey this season, although I can see that next season might be a year too far in the Prem. If Bees get promoted and can find the money for his wage, he'd be a great signing.
