because they get away with it at Brentford as our fans are very civilised, alot of other clubs fans wouldn't put up with it......And Brentford police have more than showed they are incapable of policing Bees games.,they are the same as the stewards, very good at stomping authority on their own fans but when away fans kick off they stand back and let them enjoy themselves, often quick enough to sort out any Brentford fans reacting though

Brentford OB have always been like that.

He is no Bees fan if he can't be arsed to write in to Boris. He won't have a job if we don't get our new ground. He obviously stinks in more ways than one!

Stewards at GP

I quite like the 'Son of Boris' steward.

Perhaps they were looking for known flare bearers.

If you have nothing to hide a quick search can be quite pleasurable.

Depends who's doing the searching

Stewards at GP

Stewards from the away club can be requested to attend the match by the home club.

The same with the police.

Ken always used to travel to Bees away games.

Saw him shouting at one of 'his' stewards who had the audacity to stand on the steps up to the old family stand part of Braemer (the stairs on the ealing/braemer corner) instead of standing at the bottom - or something along those lines. i thought he was a petty little fool, even the steward was laughing at him, as soon as he wobbled off he went back to where he had been standing as it was out of the way of the passing crowd.

:imwith: Legend is an overused term in modern football but she is defintely one.

And she is nothing like the turd we are discussing who patrols new road..

I don't know about our stewards but at Wolves they 'frisked' my 14-year-old grandson.

When I queried this with the Police they confirmed that it was illegal to do this to a minor. A senior steward then told the Police that they were told to 'frisk' everyone so the Police then said that it was alright then.

No wonder the stewards believe they are above the law!!!!

My lad was very peeved at his treatment before the game and his frisk, I didn't listen, perhaps I should have, he said they spoke to him like FBI and were loving their power, weirdos.

There's too many wannabe policemen in this country behaving like jumped up little Hitlers who think that they are themselves above the law. Stewards, security staff in shops, traffic wardens, car park attendants. Give any of them a uniform and hey presto they change from relatively normal human beings to total a***h****

Regarding the individual Steward in question.
Would it not be better to contact the club if someone has an issue with him, rather than resort to keyboard attacks on a message board?
Stewards at Brentford are much better, on the whole, than at most grounds. Be careful what you wish for in terms of stewards.

Maybe it's cos I'm older, but I do believe stewards are better than they used to be.

Got a very vigorous search on Saturday. Not necessary, but at least the steward was polite. I guess Brentford supporters now have a reputation for using smoke bombs/flares and we all suffer because of it.

Best stewards I ever encountered was at Wycombe. Could not have been more helpful. Showed real concern for my 'poorly' friend.

I think we are entitled to pass comment on situations and people we experience in our day to day lives on here. I don't think anybody has said anything that is not true. Perhaps if this steward understood the key aspect of being an excellent steward is to ensure customers have an enjoyable experience in a safe environment rather than getting involved in things that don't concern him especially at away games he would be better of:)

Yes I absolutely hate stewards especially rubbish jobsworth ones. Often stewards are the cause of most problems rather than fans

Best stewards were at Coventry without question because they use common Sense and didn't go looking for trouble (e.g not whining about fans standing)

They were excellent at The Ricoh last season - by contrast the stewards at Charlton (Belmarsh screws) are cowards always looking for the chance to impose their authority.

Time to get that young groundsman who came out last year to get the singing going all through the game

Going back to stewards, it looked like they were going over the top during the celebrations after our goal.
