Taken 151 wickets in Ashes cricket. Only Warne and McGrath have taken more. A wonderful competitor and one of Englands greatest ever bowlers. I will miss his facial expressions when he takes a wicket. Surely a career in broadcasting calls him. He will be very good I’m sure.

Stunned and slightly sad to see Broad retire. As others have said he is up there as an all time great. Hope England dont declare overnight and the Aussies give him a guard of honour when he comes out to bat!

That iconic image from his dismantling of Australia in 2015 perfectly sums him up. Extraordinary bowler on his day, unplayable and a great cricket brain. But also a slight hint of him not actually knowing how good he is.

I was in France on holiday for that match. It was raining heavily that morning so I stayed at the Eurocamp caravan doing some work and was following via BBC website updates and wicket alerts but with flaky reception couldn't get anything close to real time.
Never heard that commentary before. Loved the Blowers piece but Aggers' commentary on the Stokes catch just sent shivers down my spine. Loved it. Probably better knowing exactly how it actually looked. ?

Gutted. One of the best things about English cricket was seeing Broady winding up the crowd, the oppo, getting into one of “those”‘spells of bowling that ended with so many 5 fors and multi wickets. Will miss him!!! ?

I'm not a batsman but my top score is higher then that. For what it's worth I've taken 586 wickets at an average of c19. My best is 8 for 24.
