purely my opinion of course but I think he'll be a major player for us next season. The fact that MW put faith in him for the run in speaks volumes. I think he's got the right attributes to be a dangerous and maybe overlooked weapon.

definitely,he was vital to us when he came in at the end,as we were slightly stuttering,he was one of few really creating anything.

A massive talent

A totally different type of player to any others we have, starting or off the bench think he's a game changer.

yes.

i'd like to see what he could do down the middle too

I think we should not forget Stuart was becoming a regular starter at the end of last season and I think he deserves to start in the championship too.

Yep, probably our best player for the last month of the season.

Can't see it myself. He is fast and is looking the part but shows no sign of being a CF. I have never seen him with his back to goal, deserves a crack at it but looks far more of a wide player to me.

I can kinda see what they mean.

He's actually quite tall, and decent in the air (I think) and I'm sure he's a good finisher, if given the chance.

Having said that, with only 20-odd starts in senior football, all of them down the flanks, it would be a heck of an ask for him to switch to a new position just now, and at a higher level than ever before.

Personally, I suspect we will send him out to a League One club for some more game time next season, provided we can sign a couple of established strikers before then.

I do see him as a regular scorer as he is not afraid to have a go and takes up some good goalscoring positions- he missed a couple of good chances before the screamer at Colchester which will have done his confidence no end of good. A good scoring record in Ireland from a wide position also demonstrates the goal potential he has.

This is in no way to suggest he is currently capable of sustaining a Championhip level attack or will be put in that position by the management team. What I will say is that I do think he is capable of continuing his progress in the Championship and playing more regularly for the starting XI. Long term I would also not be surprised to see him playing in a more central striking role.

He was more of an old fashioned inside forward in Ireland before he came to us so it wouldn't be too surprising

There's a lot more to come from this kid :sorted:

Well I suppose that what pre season games are for, not only to achieve maximum match fitness again but to also experiment. Would be interesting to see how he does upfront as he seems to have all the attributes to be a striker imo.

I agree he had a strong finish to the season but 'a massive talent' is probably going a bit far. He has had about 20 apps in League 1 for Brentford, most at the age of 23 have had more than 100. Most seem happy to get rid of Grigg who has over 100 apps at this level and scored 20 in season before last yet Dallas, who has had 6-7 decent apps in what was a good run of form is now bring touted as the answer to our striking problems in the Championship and should be regarded as a starting player?! Some crazy stuff on here.

I thought he was superb at the end of last season but his best position is most definitely out wide. It's another big step up for him next season and I expect he'll be in and out of the team.

I can't see anyone touting Dallas as an answer to our striking problems in the Championship, merely discussing the lads potential as a goalscorer and his future development- there is a marked difference.

Really don't quite see the comparison with Grigg either, same age granted but we've developed Dallas for peanuts compared to the outlay for Grigg. Grigg came to us as an put and out striker Dallas is a wide player who has the potential to score goals.

I think we all would have loved to have seen Will have a run of 6-7 decent appearances but apart from the odd game - Sheff Utd (h) Notts County (a), it just didn't happen.

Couldn't agree more about Will, but still think he should be given time to prove himself in the Championship, otherwise why sign him on a 3 year deal? Always the risk he wouldn't perform in first year. The only plan last season was to get promoted.

Dallas stepped up at the end of the season but had offered little prior to that. The loan deal certainly helped him and gave the necessary kick required. Think he could become a decent side player but far too early to tell at present and certainly too early to be considered a starting player in Championship which is what someone mentioned above.

I'm not saying he's the answer to our striking "probems"(we don't have one yet).my post was me showing interest in seeing what he can do down the middle, something I posted not recently,a while ago,but still stand by it....wherever he's played he deserves as much an oppertunity as anyone else...I still see him as a massive talent, playing out wide his 1st position

It is becoming clearer that the management believe a total overhaul of the attacking options is required. Both Dallas and Judge can play in the outside of a front three but I'd guess we'll know the plans in the next few days.

Dallas was hardly used as he was and is a developing player who was out on loan for most of it.whenever we did use him he showed potential and was one of our outstanding players on the run when it was needed.showing mote potential in doing so

i have a hunch dallas will do better in the higher league than down with all the cloggers. ditto reeves. two stars in the making hopefully.

With respect I think you will find that the Championship is far more physical than League 1.

Not sure I agree with that. Players with better technique and faster in thought and movement....but more physical????

I just don't get this love in with Reeves. I've been waiting to be convinced and as Diana Ross would say "I'm still waiting". Dallas though, I rate.
