9 actually, 11 is pooperscoops.Back in the day, I believe that Brentford were team 11 on the team list?
Cheers for correcting, I was trying to think back pre 1970. However, I did not buy team 119 actually, 11 is pooperscoops.
World Cup is being held over here next month, some of the players take it a bit too seriously for my liking… ?

I used to play whole league seasons , cups etc against myself . Wish I had kept all the scores i had written downAh Subbuteo, that takes me back over 50 years!
Defending flick, allowed before a free kickThere were a number of flicks that weren't according to the rules as I understood them (the guy in blue after 32 secs, for example). I used to get hit by refs for those.
Yes. When I played by myself, I always used a flick with my finger laid on it side - gave a lot of curve to the player. However, refs always demanded that the finger was vertical and started behind the thumb.Defending flick, allowed before a free kick
Subbuteo is a bit like Monopoly, people rarely play the proper rules
As a child in the late '70's/early '80's I played in a highly organised league (run by brothers who are now persona non grata on here) which had a regular schedule of home and away fixtures, neutral referees and detailed league newsletter with full match reports of every game (printed illicitly by the late TOMOGP on his office photocopier). To this day the only medal I've ever won is as the runner up in the Stratton and Ravendale Road Subbuteo League Cup. I could still name most of the fictitious players in my team.....I used to play whole league seasons , cups etc against myself . Wish I had kept all the scores i had written down

Always a big Subbuteo fan, I have ref 9 in pretty much everything produced. Royal Doulton even did a large china figure and I have that too. I'm afraid I do also have a ref 11 (but only one). The really rare Brentford Subbuteo is the team produced in the one year we had white shorts. They go for a lot of money!9 actually, 11 is pooperscoops.
Toney on the bench?Scousers next. Will we play in away or third kit? Those are painted but still waiting for the bases. Prediction to follow; so far not too bad with 2-1 win vs Eagles and Bryan scoring.

My version. Chris Kamara.Modern style, which is what I play.
There’s loads of it about these days, since lockdown there’s been tons of new players/clubs/tournaments.
It’s easier to play because the bottom of the bases are flatter, very hard to curl the players though & the keepers are massive!View attachment 49373

I can't remember 424. My first football game was the table magnet football. I then progressed to subbuteo in the late 1960's.Does anyone else remember a similar table top game called 424? I was bought ifor Xmas in the 60s.

Not something I'd heard of, but it is described here: Old Football Games | TAF 4-2-4 and here: TAF 4-2-4 for those interestedDoes anyone else remember a similar table top game called 424? I was bought ifor Xmas in the 60s.
5 out of 6 on the collector rarity rating.I have the white shorts team.
I used to use it playing with my pals and the box isn’t in great nick.
What is it worth?
I might have to dig it out!5 out of 6 on the collector rarity rating.
6 being categorised as “forget it” ?

Id love the win but not sure my ticker could cope with that gameExciting game. 3-2 to the Bees. Collins own goal early on. Then two LW goals (? Shade/KLP), Mbeumo pen and late Southampton (Away Colours) consolation.View attachment 49709
The perplex stand holds 4 different Subbuteo tournament balls and the players in front are various goalkeeping figures , one throwing, one kicking and the other not doing much at all (watching the ball hit the back of the net I expect).Who are the characters to the left of the goal? Under a perspex cover?
Try to. Bees 3-L.O.2 in an exciting end to end game.Do you always flick both teams with equal proficiency?

The bases differ. Flat base more power and accuracy in shooting, old round base more skill in spinning and light touches. I think Bees will play in dark green 3rd kit today. Score one nil to us, Mbeumo first half, Spurs rattle the post with an injury time direct free kick and Flekken superb throughout.Do you always flick both teams with equal proficiency?
