Summer Transfer Window 2023

Starting to see a few pop up so maybe time for a thread??

Link here to Jesper Lindstrom who I think we’ve been linked to before. Doesn’t seem anything too concrete though, mainly speculation. Danish midfielder 23

Summer Transfer Window 2023

So, from our current first team squad...

Raya >>> New GK
Cox (loan) >>> New GK
Jansson >>> New CB
Zanka >>> Renew or New CB
Ghoddos >>> Yarmoliuk/Trevitt
Baptiste (loan) >>> Bidstrup
Onyeka (maybe - loan) >>> New CM

Stevens, Peart-Harris, Maghoma - can all go out on loan again, hopefully to the Championship or a foreign league of similar level. No replacements needed.

The remaining lot currently out on loan; Goode, Dervisoglu, Balcombe, Canos, Fosu, MBS and Valencia are all surplus to requirements in my book. Can all leave permanently or go out on loan again.

I make that something like 4-6 new signings needed.

Blimey! Mr Ruthless makes it sound so easy…

I don’t think we will get in 6 but maybe 3 or 4 depending who leaves I guess

Depending on what happens with Ivan I think we might look to bring in a striker as well

Mentioned in danish media as well. The danish Benrahma. He is most likely going to Arsenal...But you never know.

Yes ability on the ball like Benrahma, but with added pace. Plus 3 years younger, probably would cost less in both transfer fee and wages. But if Arsenal in for him then forget it since Chelski will gazump us both.

Summer Transfer Window 2023

Probably looking at GK, CB (possibly 2), CAM and LW unless we feel Damsgaard could fill both positions when required whilst IT is banned or Canos is given a new deal based on his loan spell - can see 6 or 7 players leaving but again it is about getting increased quality across the 25 man squad

You've forgotten Lewis-Potter, I'd expect him to be one of the wide attackers.

I haven't but he needs to stay injury free for a prolonged period of time first - if we lose Canos and Schade plays as a number 9 in Ivan's absence I still think we need a wide player or someone that can play across the front 3 to provide competition for Mbeumo as well.

Wissa? I doubt we'll see Canós again.

Until Schade is fully up to speed in the team and PL I’d expect him to play wider and Wissa to be the central striker. We might “uninvert” Bryan to play on the left in a three with them as Schade looks good on the right and Bryan’s right foot weakness would be less an issue. We’ll probably not play two up so much without Toney long term out but the three strikers we have would all compete for those spots as we’ve seen us do well with Bryan & Yoane there and even Sergi & Bryan (Kevin being a substantial upgrade on Sergi).

Fully agree. However do not forget KLP who before his injury started to look very sharp.

Not neccasarily, does he want to be mega rich or play football. He would likely get more game time with us.

He certainly did. But he’s also very versatile so may be coached into a different position (eg central attacking midfield or wingback) or start as a “finisher” sub, which is something TF likes to have in his game plans.

A New Keeper and a CF surely are our priorities before we look at anybody else.

Raya looks to be going and Ivan will be banned.

Summer Transfer Window 2023

Been linked to Bromley youngster Kellen Fisher. 18 year old right back, 20 appearances at National League. Maybe a B team one.
Not sure if it's worth a thread as the source is The Sun ?

I guess these will leave as all out of contract end of season Canos, Fosu, Ghoddos, Jansson, Valencia, Zanka but wouldn't mind zanka staying as a solid defender.

We have an option on Zanka, same as the summer just gone, I guess it will depend on his fitness and whether there are other options available in the market.

Key will be replacing the big 3 likely to go:

Raya
Toney (or suspended)
Jansson

IMO we’re pretty covered bar that. Would like to see Cox out on loan and maybe Balcombe 3rd choice? Seems pointless signing another keeper when he’s competent enough to be on the bench for league cup games.

Summer Transfer Window 2023

Assume we’ll still fish in league 1 or 2. If so Miles Leaburn son of Carl looks a very interesting prospect. Came through Chelsea academy and could become a very good top level striker.

Our B team does seem to have lots of sons of ex-pros but he has played a fair bit of L1 football so I’d imagine if we went for him he’d get a preseason of induction to our approach and then a Championship loan.

For CB depends whether MBS stays or goes. Its likely Jansson will be released so can go to Malmo. Do the club consider the very talented Crama ready as 4th CB or should he go on loan. Is Zanka happy to pitch in whenever needed for a 3rd season in a row?
MF I expect Ghoddos and Baptiste to leave, possibly also Onyeka. It would not surprise me if West Ham come in for Janelt as replacement for Rice if they stay up. We have Bidstrup to fill that void and its is MPH ready to take bench position is the question plus Trevitt and Yarmolouk.
Front 3 - Canos is as good as gone and Toney we expect out around 1/2 season. Lot of clubs interested in Mbeumo but I think he may stay. I think we will see another wide player in meaning Wissa and Schade can be the no 9.
GK. I suspect Strakoshka was brought in to take over as no 1 from Raya for next season but hasn't convinced due to injury and rustiness. I suspect at least 1 keeper in, maybe 2 if Balcombe is moved on as well.

I don't think we will lose Jansson (and possibly Zanka) and turn to that either MBS or Crama to step up.

I don't think Balcombe should be 1 injury away from Premier League matchday squads. I think there's a possibility we sign two goalkeepers.

Super Eagles and Fenerbahçe right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has been linked with a move to Premier League club Brentford.

This is according to 90min Türkiye who has reported that the English club would like to bring the right back to the Premier League.

The Nigerian has featured 30 times in all competitions this season for Fenerbahçe, eighteen of which he started.

Despite not being at his brilliant best for Fenerbahçe the Super Eagles right-back proved his credentials in Nigeria's double-headed tie against Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Brentford, who sit 8th in the Premier League table at the moment and have a chance to finish in one of the continental places, are preparing a move for the Nigerian to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

Osayi-Samuel is no stranger to English football. He started his professional career with Blackpool, where he played 79 games scoring 5 goals and registering 6 assists.

In 2017, he moved from Blackpool to Queens Park Rangers for whom he made 115 appearances, registering 13 goals and 13 assists.

Osayi-Samuel's contract at Fenerbahce runs out in June 2025.

not sure he's good enough for PL ? I would of liked to of nicked him off the winkers in the Championship

We need replacements for Toney and Raya. Wissa and Schade can fill in for odds games but I would rather prefer like for like replacements. Any other signings we make is a bonus for me.

I don’t think Harry Kane will sign for us.

Summer Transfer Window 2023

We aren't signing a player for £20m+ to fill in for odd games...

German international fill in.....

What are you on about fill in the odd game, Toney is most likely going to miss most of the 23/24 season leaving us with Schade and Wissa. I certainly hope we bring in a CF and not take a risk with Wissa or Schade through the middle. Look how much work we did with Ollie before he played through the middle and that was in the Championship. I would expect at least a GK, CF and most likely a CB in the summer.
