Footitt could push for a test place at this rate, he was on the fringes previously. Needs to stay fit and have a good 8 weeks but he has started the season well.

Pisses me off that he accepted the England call up if he felt like that. Having seen him a lot I didnt think he was the right option anyway. More of a he bats a bit, bowls a bit and can field selection.
If his mindset was i can take or leave this, this adds to why he should never have been called up.

Spent the day with Badgerbee Senior at The County Ground Taunton for Somerset v Essex.....
Lovely day, although Somerset's efforts to chase down Essex's 334/6 were ultimately disappointing, losing by 72 runs, particularly after Myburgh's spectacular 57 off 28 balls at the start of the Somerset innings which looked to have set them on their way.
Impressive knocks from Westley (100 at a run a ball) and Bopara (92 Not Out off 81 balls) were too much for Somerset who now look like finishing in second place and will have to face a Quarter Final rather than going straight through to a home semi-final.
Nice pint of Thatchers in The Long Room and a decent Merlot with the excellent Sunday Carvery......I've had worse Sundays.....

Days spent with dads should be treasured. They don't go on forever. I used to try and take my dad to an ODI or a day at the test when he visited in the summer. Very fond memories.

I will be at the county game on 6th August at Taunton for all 4 days (if it goes that far)! Am looking for a club match on Sunday 5th as don't do T20 matches. I see Staplegrove may be at home though had hoped to go to Taunton Deane.

Assume you mean CC game starting on Monday 7th? I'm doing T20 on Sunday 6th. Staplegrove 2 are at home, but that will be on Saturday 5th, in Shrubbery Div 6S (not sure there'll be any club games on the Sunday).
My next game should be Middx v Somerset in CC at Lords on Friday 2nd June.
