Wilkinson has been absolutely stunningly good. Considering he's not played for three years or whatever. Astonishing.

Why is so much attention given to what is essentially just a pastime and from previous uni experience just an excuse to sh*t in people's pints in the bar afterwards?

I actually put money on him scoring bugger all. Not a lot of money admittedly, but it was on the principle that I couldn't see how anyone who had played so little could do anything meaningful on an international stage (... well ok, Scotland).

Oh how wrong can I be...

Ok - two and three you might have a case but nancies' game :confused:

If Lamps or Gezza or Becks had got Jonny's injury today it would've been the first item on News at Ten and we'd have rows of reporter's outside some private hospital in Kensington relaying updates to a worried nation. Reporter at Twickers today didn't even think to ask about his ruptured kidney from a few months back. :eek:

And another thing - went into Richmond with my good Lady last night and couldn't get in any bar or resturant for pissed up kilt wearing Jocks...now who said football fans were annoying?

(Found a nice little Italian in Sheen though)

If our national team learnt anything from Jonny Wilkinson we would be lethal

It was a great performance, when English sport is at a real low we can take some optimism from Rugby

Well the police seem to think that football crowds warrant more vigilance/control than rugby crowds. Does that count as "annoying"?

Or were there running battles with police down the Richmond 1-way system?

No there wasn't running battles but loads of people were shouting "Fck me, there's Lionel Blair..."

I don't think our professional football with all it's divers, fakers, rollers, actors and agonized cry-babies is in any position to label as nancies any other sports players (even synchronised swimmers) let alone rugby players.
