Switching Ends

What are your thoughts on switching ends?

I know loads of people like to switch ends to be in the half we are attacking but when you are playing at home against Fulham, the exodus of people from the paddock at half time didn't leave a lot to generate any noise in response to the away crowd in the second half. Atmosphere was flat anyway and people switching just made it worse.

Should people stay where they are and cheer both our attack in one half and then support our defence is the other? Or is it ok to follow the way we are shooting and cheer our forwards for the full 90?

No dig at anyone for moving. Just some thoughts.

I think we should all bring an Alsatian dog and make the Ealing Road the away end, then have big circles of away fans stood around the Brentford fans in the Ealing Road terrace.

I'm not sure people switched, they just never made it back out from the Hive at half-time.

1/ I thought the paddock was still pretty lively second half

2/ I don't think the atmosphere was flat

Not wanting to be a killjoy but.......it simply shouldn't be allowed for anyone without an Ealing Road ticket to gain access to that stand. This has been a problem for some time now, with the necessity to use the Braemar Road turnstiles and the stewards not checking tickets/emails as people go into ER.......a real danger of overcrowding in ER and potential safety issues.....

Did have to comment in 2nd half when a number of fans squeezed into Ealing Road and stood in front of me, they soon moved on but in all seriousness it is a potential problem if fans from other parts of the ground try and get on the terrace

Yes, exactly my point. They don't check at the start of the game either. When I walk from BR forecourt into ER terrace I just show the steward my Membership Card, but he has no idea whether the ticket I've uploaded is for a seat in BR or for the ER terrace. (Although I do always take a printed off email on the off-chance that they might ask me.........) I'm sure they wouldn't check at H-T either...........not good from a H&S aspect.............

Congestion is bad enough when people are making there way from the forecourt just before kick off, can you imagine how bad and dangerous it would be if they actually stopped and checked every body's ticket !!!! Plus I'm never going to make the same mistake at half time and go for a waz �� thought I would have to fill someones pocket

Normally there are stewards telling you off if your toecap is on a walk way on ER but they were rammed on Friday. It's good to have big crowds at GP but the ER/Braemar corner is the pits. One for the marketing team.

Kind of my point. They normally don't let you stand in walkways etc but Friday on the Ealing Road just seemed to think "sod it"
Love a full ground but if it's sold out on Ealing Road overfilling it seems like a mistake

It wasn't really a problem before though as there was plenty of spare capacity. Ealing Road was overcrowded on Friday with aisles blocked - stewards nowhere to be seen.

First half I agree was utterly packed on Ealing Road, but weirdly in the second half I had plenty of space around me. My observation (and that of others) was that a lot of people seemed to congregate close to the aisles and were reluctant to move further in to the terrace, causing the build up of people at the terrace entrances - a bit similar to how people don't move up the platform at tube stations!

Yep, loads of room literally directly behind the goal but had to elbow my way down the aisle to even get in

I am a strong supporter of standing at football grounds but the blocked aisles in ER on Friday night raise serious safety issues. Nobody could get in or out.

Jest if you must, but you may recall we did have a sad case of an elderly fan collapsing in ER just a few weeks ago. Had it happened on Friday, emergency assistance would certainly have been delayed getting to him.
