I know SWR have their own thread but I thought it was worth mentioning on here that there's industrial action on every Saturday between the 4th August and the 1st September.

Should only affect the Rotherham and Forest home games.....

My experience of strike days on the Windsor line is that the trains run as normal, only much emptier ! Don’t know about weybridge trains, but worse case get off at Richmond and catch a 65 bus

Same as ashford bees,on strike days,reading trains have been on time and better than normal day..
Management drive the trains on strike days.

Thanks for that,should be on time for our first bud of the season on the 4th?

So for the forest game, SWR are on strike and the entire west coast line from Manchester to Euston is shut.
Options look like I have to go via Sheffield or Nottingham, doesn’t sound like much fun travelling down with forest fans.

This is going to happen more and more frequently while HS2 is being built. Unfortunately normal service won't be resumed for eight years or so.

Does that include Saturdays ? Just wondering if the best route would be Reading - Ealing. Then a lift.

From Watford site

Watford Football Club wishes to make supporters travelling to tomorrow's match against Brentford at Griffin Park aware that there will be severe disruption to usual train timetables due to RMT industrial action that will affect South Western Railway services.

There will be no service to Brentford prior to kick-off.

The best alternative route may be to take the Piccadilly Line to South Ealing, then taking a 65 bus from there that stops right outside the stadium.

Normally catch train from Feltham, where trains usually run 11 and 41 minutes past the hour. Went on to South western railway site and that states trains to brentford will be running hourly at 29 minutes past the hour. Will be checking again nearer departure time

Better off walking from South Ealing, the 65 is awful.

was @ Feltham BR station 08.00 today, signs up, no trains stopping @ Brentford.

South West website said there was a train every hour, got to Waterloo - no trains at all to Brentford. Frustrating. Crossed river and got tube instead. Good job the game was entertaining.

I hadnt seen the replies to my thread before I left . No trains Waterloo to Brentford . Had to get train to Richmond and get a bus . Took for ever , bloody traffic . Walked to South Ealing tube after the game and got off at Covent Garden .Apparently I got home at 2 am . Dog house for me

Not sure , five cans on train to Waterloo , three pints in The Hole in The Wall , Two in the Princess Royal , two in the Griffin , pint at half time , pint on way to South Ealing , then G&T in next pub . When we got to Leicester Square we had more in places I cant remember , then more in O'Neils . Blurry after that ..............

Paddington - Ealing Broadway (or perhaps Reading - Ealing Broadway, if limtied stops)
E2 - Kings Arms, E8 drops you closer but will take longer.
