Didn't think that it would work but sounded like a good partnership against Plymouth.

Anyway, if we have a very short front line of Vine and Tabb, will that encourage our defenders and midfielders to play the ball on the ground. Surely they are too short to use the 'hoof it up the field' tactic.

This must be a good thing that Vine and Tabb's lack of height will encourage a passing game.

It certainly encouraged a passing game last night, almost every ball played forward was to feet or space, not many aimless hoofs that I can recall.

I think McCammon will be back on Saturday though.

Glad to hear that the lads were playing the ball on the deck. :)

Having a short front line hasn't in the past meant that the ball wouldn't be hoofed. I seem to remember that when Scotty P was playing up front Oli plus others would regularly send aerial balls to what was often the most 'vertically challenged' player on the pitch. :(

Hope that we do keep the ball on the deck. IMO we look a much better side when we do.

at this level its all about adapting to the conditions and opposition when situations arise.not many teams are good enough anywhere to pass pass pass let alone div 2 teams.we are a good side because we play the way that is most effective on any given day.tabb was excellent on tues but we need to know whether wally sees him as a striker or midfielder before we start calling for mac to be dropped as hes played well and caused a lot of problems for teams this year.playing 2 small men up front wouldn't stop us having to be direct in certain games.i think wally has the balance right as proved by our unexpected league position.

well said Nick - adapt and work with what you have , not what you wish for
