Target 1500

The above is posted on the official site regarding Saturday's match, and is headed "Target 1500."

This got me thinking a bit - 1500 Bees at Peterborough? Why not? It's not very far, we rarely play there on a Saturday so they'll be a few people that will go for that reason. If they all take an extra person or two then we should get something around this number.

Anyone who's been to Posh before will back me up on saying that you get a good view, on a covered terrace (very different to Swindon's plastic seats in the rain), there are 800 seats for those who prefer sitting...all in all it's a 'proper' footy ground that has all the ingredients for a great day out. Let's make it one!!

If we did get 1000 or more Bees there, the accoustics are such that we could muster one hell of an atmosphere akin to Reading. It's not too far to travel and we took 5000 there when we won the championship - it brings back happy memories for me at least!!

We all know that the Bees could do with any sort of an away win, but to get it with 1000/1500 fans there as well would be magic and give the whole club a tremendous boost. Also, being so near the top of the table, we should take quite a few fans - if they don't come now they never will - and these are the types of games that we must win if we're gonna go up. It's no use not going and then moaning about the team not doing their job; we've got ours to do as supporters!!

TARGET 1500: DRAG ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY MEMBERS/RELATIVES/WORKMATES/TENNIS PARTNERS/POSTMEN/ANYBODY TO LONDON ROAD AND MAKE SOME NOISE!!!

1) Supporting the mighty reds is not a job.
2) What you said about making noise, is a little to close for comfort to the entire, and entirely embarrassing NOIZY BOYS campaign.

Totally agree. This ground is fantastic to watch football in, and we can create a superb atmosphere on the terrace. If we can get 1500 or more, then I'm sure the lads will appreciate the support that they will get.
No boos at the team though!!!

I've still to negotiate my availability for tomorrow with the missus. Trouble is, she is due to give birth to the new Stan Bowles over the weekend so it might not be politically wise if I am a 2 hour drive away when she decides to go into labour.

I'll see what I can do. Meanwhile, if you hear a tannoy announcement tomorrow about it you'll know it's me! (but I'll pretend not to have heard it if we're winning).

Sorry Mark but the 'official' figure seems like absolute bo((ocks to me. There were at least, at anyones very conservative estimate, 1000+ Bees at Peterborough. There were well over 200 sitting and must have been at least four times that number standing on Moys Terrace.

I agree. I could see more space on the terraces than supporters. I thought this was a poor turn out for a decent away end. No more than 120 in the seats. We must do better.

If thats our core away support - of which I was 1 - and we make that sort of a noise for the whole game for each away match until the end of the season then I'll be well pleased !!! Whats the point in dragging along people who dont REALLY wanna be there just to reach some poxy 'Target' figure. If they dont make any noise and join in then they should stay at home with the missus and go to Ikea.
