Sawyers is suspended. Pretty sure we will see a midfield 3 of McEachran, Yennaris and Dasilva.

Agree with this selection, Boro will play the Pulis way & Barbet will be stronger in the air & more physical than Odjubajo - Would definitely like to see Marcondes play in the middle but not sure whether to start him or bring him on later (doubt he would last 90)

McLeod would be my alternative to Marcondes starting due to him being able to hit long range as Boro are pretty resolute at the back.

I think the Nico experiment has been done to death and isn't a solution to the issues we have in midfield especially at home where we have increased possession and need to move the ball quickly. The Mokotjo injury is a disaster as he would have slotted in easily and I think he'd have made a big difference yesterday too. I think we have little choice but to give DaSilva his first start and to gamble that the break out of the team has given Macleod a kick up the whatsit and that he can show some of what some people saw earlier in the season. Can't see Marcondes being fit enough in time. Only other option would be Judge but his performances recently don't provide us with much hope that that could work. I guess we could gamble on Reece Cole but I don't think he's good enough and I think the club probably agree. It's a conundrum and an unwanted one given the focus we need to place on the defence. On the plus side I do think a game off would do Sawyers the world of good..

"Gamble" could be the word at this point. Ideally it might be too early for DaSilva and Marcondes but they should be more confident than some of the others who have been playing regularly and who seem to have a somewhat fragile confidence at the moment. Similarly it must be the opportunity to give Daniels more game time.

Take absolutely no risks with Henry and Maupay fitness (future brain health). McLeod in the last chance salon as the box to box player otherwise Da Silva, Against a Pullis side height essential but depends on Boro's right winger who plays between Barbet and Odubajo. Marcondes gets his big chance at No 10 and up front its a toss up between Watkins and Canos if Maupay out but is Forss fit? could Hardy make himself a hero?

The high press? It's a Pulis Middlesbrough team.

Incidentally, looking at the table they have only conceded eight goals all season. How is that even possible?

If Maupay suffered concussion, and if the information provided on this site is correct, Maupay will be unable to play for 19 days. In that case he will miss the Middlesborough match.

another physical encounter with the likes of: Flint, Ayala, Friend, Clayton, Howson, Saville....

Mepham and Konsa (could put Jeanvier in for Konsa but too high risk).
McEchran (needs to wear his big boys pants)
Dasilva in central mid with Nico or Lewis (can’t think of an obvious alternative bar Judge ?)
Two from Canos, Watkins or Said (if fit) with Maupay. If Said not fit, anyone for Moses attacking winger ?

Marcondes will feature off bench with Moses and Clarke / Judge likely 3rd sub.
Bench looking light considering we all thought we had a 2nd 11 that could slot in, injuries and suspension hurting us.

If Maupay's out I'd give Forss a go (play like for like rather than try to shoehorn someone else to fill in). It's going to be difficult regardless.

According to FA Regs shown on this site 19 days from midnight on the day of the injury! Do not mind being wrong but I did read it - honest.

I know some have said hes not going to be up to our level.................... But if we are lacking striker options on the bench then why not at least give young Hardy a place?? Scoring goals for the B team at the minute.

Forss had a back injury. Probably ok with that now.

And that assessment was being polite! He’s as clinical a goalscorer as I’ve seen in a youngster but he struggles to combat the physicality of teenage opponents and his overall contribution is minimal. The coaches have got a tough job to get him up to the required standard ... but a player who can finish like he does is worth persevering with.

With two B games + a rumoured behind close door game and players away on international duty it’s a bit of a lottery at the moment.

Maupay probably resting after concussion, Benrahma injured (maybe back just but cannot rely on it). Marcondes has had half a game in 'B''s, Jeanvier is injured or if fit has not played anywhere for weeks, and Henry two 'B' team part appearances. We can but keep our fingers crossed I suppose.

It’s bonkers to even begin to guess what the team will be so far ahead of the game.

I’d be surprised if we can even raise a team for tomorrow’s West Ham game.

There are too many imponderables at the moment in terms of the injured players who include:

Mokotjo Benrahma Mepham MacLeod Watkins Forss and Maupay with Henry and Marcondes nearly fit.
