Tomlin and Tillen replacing Kuffour and Brooker please. The impact these two had was really something and surely they start as we really began to play when these two got going.

Agree with nearly everything but not Tomlin. I think he loods good but needs a it of the DJ treatment, by coming on as subsitute until he's got to the pace of the game at this level.

Brooker put in a couple of excellent crosses in the first half. I didn't think he was too bad today.

Rhodes started to look good towards the end of the game.
Willock may be pants but he was the best pants he has ever been in a Bees shirt. On the other hand Kuffour didn't do enough to keep his place at the moment and Brooker was crap. All IMHO.

Was Tomlin that good?

I thought he looked quick, confident and had a good touch. Very encouraging start, particularly after that howler he missed just after coming on. (That was Tomlin wasn't it? I was easily confused today) On the flimsy evidence of one match, I'd certainly play him ahead of Kuffor, who looked like an inferior version of Rankin. The other factor is that Tomlin is likely only to get better, whereas at 24 and with a so so 4th Division record behind him, Kuffor probably won't.

Brooker was typical of last season today, some good stuff, held the ball well at times, brought others in and made a few decent crosses but was frustrating too.
However it is him or Kuffour, dreadful today, or Tomlin, who looked knackered after 20 minutes. I would rather have Brooker :shrug:

Oh and TILLEN MUST START at left wing i'm not saying don't play Kuffour as he might be decent up front but he was rubbish at left wing today and we looked much better when Tillen was on. It may have been a poor game as it was his first at this level but that level of peformance deserved to be dropped imo.

He linked up very well with Pinault and KOC and it would be a mistake to drop him but lets not let the facts get in the way of a good slagging shall we? Brooker is weak and hides. A 60 second cameo in the 2nd half was when he volleyed that ball out when free to cross. Then his teamates won the ball back and he crossed left footed straight to the first defender who headed it away and he decided to pretend to try and win the header from the clearance and New Road gasped. 2 minutes later he was off.

Heywood dodgy and slow. Second half opened up when we played out of defence and got through their back line which was nearer the half way line than the 18yd box. When the attack breaks slow and everyone bunches on the edge of the box they (including last year) loss momentum.

Clark stays in til he has a howler, only fair action.

Plenty of people around me thought he was unlucky to go off. LR had to bring Tillen on to give Charles more support against Forbes as neither Tomlin or Kuffour had given him any help at all. Since taking Tomlin off 2 mins after missing an open goal would have destroyed his confidence Brooker was the only option to go. He will def start on Tues.. .

Brooker has alot to offer the team, i feel that the long ball hoof it and charge of last season did not suit his style of play and i feel the LR ball on the floor football will bring out the best in brooker. we are only one game in lets judge him and others after 10 games.

I don't think it's a question of "dropping" Masters. He (and everybody else) knew that, for the time being at least, this was a one game performance. He aquitted himself brilliantly and has shown himself to be more than an adequate understudy for Nelson. Nelson (particularly as Club Captain) was always going to return for the Northampton Game, but he now knows that he must be at the top of his form to retain his place between the sticks. We also know that we have a reliable substitute on the bench, should the need arise.

It was at home whioch helped massively too. I think a few are getting a bit carried away by his performance.

I'd agree with this. I think the defence and midfield picks itself and, given Willock gave us his best performance on Saturday and he's the tallest (although he did get a bit of a whack on the ankle late on), the only questionable position is who is alongside him. Rhodes has a lot to learn in that position, so it may be that JK is best... or maybe Moore. For me, it would be whoever works hardest closing defenders down that would get the job away from home.

Then the bench would be Masters, Charles, Osborne, Tomlin, Rhodes, Moore.

I agree with Ed. Clearly there's arguments for at least 5 changes plus positional switches but I can' see the point after a reasonable, if uninspriing display. Where do we go if he drops 5 and we lose 4-0?

Make the 2 changes that were enforced on Saturday and give the rest another chance.

Popped down to the training ground for a short time yesterday and Willock wasn't out with the rest of the players, but was in the gym room working on leg muscles. Not sure if this is usual, or means he is likely to miss out. The BBC website has him as having a late fitness test.
