Karleigh or Wilson at RB please.
Puncheon drifts from wing to wing but he will murder Foster.

I fear 4-5-1 but we can beat this lot.

At last someone agrees with me that Danny Foster is not a L1 right back! Weak defensively and gets a nosebleed if he goes over the half way line.

4-5-1 same as last week but Osborne at right back and hopefully Weston is fit enough to start and give us some much needed pace. If only one up front I'd go with Mac ahead of Strevens, but the supply needs to give him a chance.

He has been fine in the 3 clean sheets in 4 games. Is there really a need for a hate figure on here all the time.

Danny Foster is a competent League 1 right back. I thought he was very good against Leeds.

Chesney
Foster Legge Balkestein Dickson
Bostock Bean Hunt KoC Weston
Cort

It's not hate from me, sometimes we need to look at the other team and he is a player than when on song makes them tick. We need someone who can match his pace and mobility and when he comes right he will meet his match. Foster struggles with pace and it bothers me with this lot, Puncheon is one of those players that can win a game on his own IMO.

Team for MK

Szczesny

Foster Legge Balkestein Dickson

Bostock Kev Bean Wood (or Weston if fit)

Strevens Charlie

subs: Moore, Bennett, Osborne, Hunt, Taylor, Murphy, Wood (If Weston is fit, if not Cort)

It's not hate from me either. Just dont think he's good enough.

He was also part of the defence prior to the last 3 or 4 games that looked like they had never played football before and were leaking goals.

I would suggest that Pim and Mr Legge have made the difference, not DF.

Just my opinion though.

I think that's a fair assessment tbh. I rate Foster as a player though. I'd accept he's had a couple of iffy performances this season but I think he's played excellently the past few weeks and certainly don't go with the view that he's poor in the air or weak defensively.

I would to see us line up with 4-4-2 but suspect we may go 4-5-1 after last weeks success. Problem I have is who to play the lone striker role, Mac did well against Leeds but would like to see Strevens played there, he is mobile and more of a target man than Charlie. If Weston is back then him on the left and Bostock on the right if not then Wood wide left.

My team would be:
Chesney

Foster
Legge
Balkestein
Dickson

Saunders
Bean
Bostock
Weston (If fit)

Strevens
Macdonald

Why do we continously want to play 4-5-1 it is boring and the way we play it takes the win out straight away. Go for the win not a bore draw

If I recall it has been played once and that was five days ago.

The last time we won away was in August. It doesn't "take the win out straightaway", and a bore draw away to MK Dons would be a good result (and something to build from) when you consider that we have been losing to the likes of Tranmere and Wycombe away recently.

It does take the win out straight away because against Leeds they had no intentions to get a goal they just defended.

Expect Andy will replicate last saturdays team and i for one would go with that. We have been abysmal on our travels and whilst the style is not going to create numerous chances it does make us hard to beat and a point a game for the next 2 away games will be something to build upon.

One thing however whilst it is an essentialy defensive formation I do beleive that as the players get to grip with it chances may well appear as it will require the wide players, Strevens/Bostock to join with Charlie and providing the midfield does not allow to much space between them and the forwards you can, with effort and commitment, actually end up with 5 attacking players.

I am pleased that Andy has tried something different and beleive he should persevere for both our next away games plus the home game against Charlton. My concern is that currently the defence have confidence in the keeper which makes their lives easier, am not so sure that will be the case come the Gillingham game!!

What is it with you lot and Foster? He is a solid player who made one mistake at orient where you could argue Bull was at fault for not calling. He has managed admirably again two of the best sides in the division in recent weeks in Colchester and Leeds. Do you lot who want Os at right back not remember his inadequate performances against League 2 oppo last year? He is not a natural right back. He's position is in the centre and is much more at home there. Those who think Scott will drop Foster for Osbourne are deluded. The defence will not change subject to injury or loan call backs

I know there doesn't seem to be too many Cort fans out there for one reason or another, but i'd like to see Scott try Cort up front with Bostock playing off him. Regardless of what people may think of Cort theres not denying hes got a great touch, and his ability to bring other players into the game is quality, if he did that up front with John he'd definately cause mk's defence a few problems, much more that poor old Charlie did last week with endless hopeless balls hoofed upto him. Keep the back 5 the same as last week (if it aint broke...) bring Saunders in on the right and weston on the left (if fit) and Roberts your father's brother! Plus havin Cort in the team always makes us a bit more dominant in defending corners.

Interesting. So you'd drop both Ben and Charlie and have a target man with no one to put the ball in the net. I like Cort but would never play him as the lone 'striker' up front. Please explain your thinking?

Team for MK

put the ball in the net so whens that goin to happen.good tactics last wk,good result but wantin to keep playin that formation is so negative.when we played 2 up front we couldnt score so havin 5 in middle will really help the goals for column.giv young murphy a full 90mins(can it b any worse).unfortunately drawn games r not to goin to help us for the rest of the season

We need a goalscorer, we don't have one, so maybe AS needs to look at alternatives, maybe Bostock and Cort up front, who knows. The fact is we are the lowest scoring away team in league one, so there's your problem

I'd be happy with another 0-0

so keep the same team please.....Weston to get some pitch time if fit, from the bench :sorted:

One mistake.

Same again for me...

If we get a point away to MK Dons with 4-5-1 so be it. Has to be 4-4-2 on Boxing Day though.

We have two goalscorers in the side - they are just not getting the service and chances they need. I don't think Bostock and / Cort up front will change this.

Perhaps Weston returning to the side will help; he was finally beginning to show some form before he got injured...

"We have two goalscorers in the side"...um
No we have 2 strikers who aren't scoring goals. As for creating chances, how many good crosses has Dicko out into the 6 yard box and none of our forwards are on the end of it. How many clever passes has Bostock threaded through to the forwards which are read. It's not having a pop at Charlie, Strevs or Cort but the stats tell the story.
Finally if your not convinced, how many shots on goal did we have at Tranmere and Wycombe ?

I'm of the opinion that Weston is becoming a very important player for us. Teams will be scared of his pace whereas they know they can mark Wood and Bostock out of the game. I think when he's back, we'll change the way we play and become more counter attacking.

Don't worry the back 5 will not change, unless illness or injury strikes in the next two days. We have only conceeded one goal in the last 4 games why change it. The other end needs sorting out fast.

Are you Andy Scott in disguise? Surely Santa Clause would be behind the reindeers, not in front of them. Also, you want to stick the snowman on the wing as he's likely to fade as the game goes on.
