Team for Norwich

I feel strangely optimistic about this one; if Neil is still in charge for them I think the below line up could turn them over:

Bentley
Colin Egan Dean Bjelland Barbet
Clarke Yennaris McEachran Sawyers
Hogan

5-4-1 without the ball, 3-4-3 when we have it.

2 players in midfield who won't put in a shift if the going gets tough, not for me.

Exactly my team and KK for Sawyers at 60 mins if not creating enough chances.

Nico will put in a shift and usually does but he's not a "rock". McEachran I grant you.

I presume that Warfield was referring to sawyers. However I think that it's a myth that RS doesn't work hard.

I was referring to Josh Mac and Sawyers, 1 lightweight is risky, 2 very risky IMO

Apologies. Read post too quickly. Thought you said two DM's for some reason.

As for Sawyers...it's not that he doesn't move around....it's that when he gets near to someone the challenge is so ineffectual it must be a joy for the opposition to play against. So when people say he doesn't work I suspect they're saying not that he's totally immobile more that he bottles virtually every challenge.

Team for Norwich

I reckon KK needs a start , take Vibe out.
I am with Mr Pipe on this one also gives us plenty on the bench to come on as inpact, like Sawyers,Kai Kai,Woods.
Bring it on cannot wait to see the yellow bellies feathers rustled................ta ta...Alex.......COYR!

Team for Norwich

Starters are Bentley Barbet Egan Dean Bjelland Colin Woods Yennaris Hogan. Which leaves 2 mid places. For me Vibe shouldn't start. I'd go Clarke and McEachran as McEachran seems to be the only mid player capable of delivering a pass to open a defence.

Team for Norwich

Same team shape as yesterday is worth another go, it seemed to work well for the majority of the game (as we were by far the better side);

------------------- Bentley -------------------------

-- Colin -- Egan -- Dean -- Bjelland -- Barbet --

--- Yennaris --- McCormack --- Woods ---------

------------------- Sawyers -----------------------

-------------------- Hogan ------------------------

Something like that maybe. Basically Vibe shouldn't start. I'm also reluctant to start McEachran as you never know what you'll get with him, hence the slightly more defensive midfield trio. We can always bring him (or Kerschbaumer) on later if we want to change things up, as can we with Clarke.

I also feel if we're behind, I'd like to see Hofmann come on with at least 20 minutes to go and see what it's like playing alongside Hogan up top.

Bentley
Egan Harlee Bjelland
Colin Yennaris McEachran Barbet

Same team that started yesterday but with Josh in for Vibe maybe.

I think Hogan needs a rest and therefore I would start Vibe up front...........................just joking Voice before you combust!

Is McCormacks ban finished now then?

Woods got a 1 game suspension and Dean dropped him for another game. Same for Harlee. To be consistent we should not see Mc for another 5 games?

Team for Norwich

Hopefully the Cardiff incident has been put behind everyone but I suspect that Macca is still unfit and certainly lacking match fitness. Not a chance of him starting next weekend.

Team for Norwich

Macca won't get match fit without playing, so play him. We need leaders. He might only last 60mins but that's better than 60mins of someone lightweight - Vibe, Nico, Sawyers, Josh. We have a few of them.

Team for Norwich

We're in a poor run of results so would be inclined to start Macca at Norwich and let Josh Mc have a free reign alongside. If honest my head says we need better but it will give us experience, leadership and a never say die attitude that we lacked on occasions away?

He's very slow and an average footballer though. Does that matter at all do you think?

I would apply average to most of the midfielders at the club. Yennaris a makeshift come right back. Josh who has offered 1 performance, maybe 2, in 18mths. KK who can't be rated by the management a all.

He has heart, which some don't.

I'd be embarrassed if we dropped Yennaris for MacCormack (who is a midfielder btw).

I think this side will do a job for us. Several options on the bench if necessary.

Team for Norwich

I thought the players settled into the 3-4-3 yesterday quite well, considering it was a brand new system to them. However, what did strike me was a lack of pace in the team - and when we lack pace, we become easy to defend against.

Josh Clarke is the best option that we have to inject that pace (as shown by his impact when he came on), but I'm not sure he fits into a 3-4-3 unless it's in place of Colin, who shouldn't be dropped. I don't think Clarke fits into the inside forward roles of the attacking 3 in that system either, as I don't think his all-round game is good enough to play in those pockets of space. IMO he's best when he can hug the right touchline and run at full-backs.

Therefore I'd revert to a back 4 so Clarke can come in on the right wing, with Bjelland dropping out due to Barbet's very positive performance yesterday. The midfield is the key area to get right, and there have been too many mixed displays from individuals in that area of the field recently. I think Yennaris should keep his place, as his energy and ball-winning ability are vital, while McEachran has been consistently excellent coming off the bench - hopefully he can begin to play that way when starting too.

I'd bring in McCormack for Woods, who has been in poor form recently and struggled to impose himself in a defensive sense, whilst not providing much going forwards either. McCormack was very good against Reading and was far from the worst player against Wigan too. He provides an extra leader on the pitch as well, which is never a bad thing in our current run. That leaves the left wing spot to fill, which I think Sawyers edges over Kaikai, as it gives us a better balance with Clarke on the other side.

That's fair enough, we can disagree. The truth is we need better than what we've got - including Macca, Nico, Josh and KK, maybe even Woods - and all us including Dean Smith are searching for a formula that will get us by until better comes along.

Being average at this level makes you quite a good footballer. When I rated Sawyers as average a few weeks ago you made a fatuous remark about "average opinions". A lot of our players have risen quickly from lower levels of football and so being average at Championship level can be considered quite good progress.

I can't understand this constant criticism of Nico, he may not be great but st present is our most consistent midfielder and is offering considerably more than Woods. Also I would mention that he was a midfielder at Arsenal, we played him as a RB

My one criticism of Nico is that his passing is a bit careless at times. However, his work-rate is fantastic and he gets in some important tackles. I would certainly not drop him!

Pish. He's no slower than many of our players. Woods/McE/etc.
He's a stronger and better tackler than them both.
He's a better crosser than them both.
He doesn't have the passing quality.

He might not be the long term future but it's not as if he's poor in comparison to any of the others.

Team for Norwich

Also our win rate with him in the team is quite high , so he must add something when he plays ? Also lets not forget that we have just lost 4 out 5 so we are not exactly pulling up trees.

I would like to see us try,

Josh Mac and Sawyers in an away game against a strong side, not for me Nick, can't remember when either have produced two consecutive acceptable performances,
they will get into JM and he will disappear, still all about opinions.

Mac and KK please

Yep I agree actually and more importantly for you Mori, to be in ground for the complete game too. I think I came very close to your experience last week for telling some idiot to shut the f**k up for shouting out for Smith to be be sacked last Saturday. We were playing well and should have been winning ffs.

Team for Norwich

Stupid comment Imo. Our best result this season was when Macca played.

Sorry I was only messing. Seriously though, we have to do better than both of those.

KK has been over looked by every manager and from what I seen, looks pony. Granted he has had a couple of decent passes

AM is a player that give his all but is just not good enough.

Only my opinion of course
