Team for Reading?

Well if Steve Clarke has his way the game wont go ahead.................

Near enough the same team for me unless we bring some players in.

Want to see Colin at RB and Mac in the middle next to Toums. Give KK a rest.

Colin Dean Tarks Bidwell

Mac Toums

Vibe Judge Gogia

Hoffman

No other real options at the minute. :banghead:

Team for Reading?

As it stands:

Button
Colin, O'Connell, Dean, Bidwell
Diagouraga
Judge Kerschbaumer
Gogia
Hofmann Vibe

Subs: Smith, Tarkowski, Barbet, McCormack, Holldack, Moore, Udumaga

We need some reinforcements.

Think Mac deserves a chance in the middle. KK has struggled to get up to speed of the english game IMO

Sitting on the bench won't help him - we're playing Reading. We have to take it to them.

Think I'll wait till later in the week when we hopefully will have more options.Strange Clark is talking about the game being off sounds like he's not confident with his squad like many in this league.

He has also said that he's been involved in three Wembley finals where the pitch had been laid three days before and the surface wasn't good. If it's good enough for an FA final then it must be good enough for us.

Think he said Millennium Stadium, so sheep pasture and not so good!

God that is a weak bench

Read that and gave me confidence that our pitch should be ok

Team for Reading?

Honestly haven't a clue what the side will be, last year I could tell you every week.

Team for Reading?

Not really that clever.

You don't have to be clever to work out the starting line up for Saturday with our current available players, pick any 10 from 12 unless you want button dropped. If you mean with new players coming in fair enough.

Team for Reading?

Jan Holdack must have earned his place on the bench. Don't think we even had a midfield sub on the bench last sat.

Team for Reading?

The same team I suggested before the Burnley game (is my preference not prediction):
----------------Button
Colin-----Dean---O'Connell---Bidwell
-------McCormack------KK
Judge----------------------------Gogia
----------Vibe--Hofmann

Maybe Toums for KK. Either way ;)

Better predict it right then or you'll look very silly

Why drop Bidwell. Not really put a foot wrong this year?

At present the team will be more or less the same. Personally, I'd rest Tarks for O'Connell, I'm sure that mask affected him @ Burnley despite what he may think or say. Also, Hoff needs support up front. I hadn't realised that was his first full 90 mins, no wonder he looked even more knackered 2nd half!

The good news is Clarke doesn't seem to know his best team yet either, & they're not scoring (yet). Amongst his quotes -apart from our pitch- noted he'd love to bring in Vydra, but can't afford him & they've signed up 8 (EIGHT) players this summer for a net £2m.

Hofmann played the whole game at Bristol City!

McCormack needs to start. Has done well so far this season and last year at home to Reading he bullied Robson-Kanu who was subsequently subsituted at half time. More of the same needed.

Like this, Judge just behind the forwards would give us pressure and skill higher up the pitch.

Can't be much different to any of these as things stand. I'd have O'Connell in though for Tarks.

I'm really hoping but it's needed.

You know what'll happen now. Tarky will play and have a blinder on Saturday. Dean will have a 'mare. Fierce debate then ensues as to who we should play next match...... :)

you think 3 players will sign , play sat and gogia , hoff and kk will be dropped ?

Team for Reading?

I think the back 4 have done well so far this season. Its the 4-5 in front that have let them down on occasions.

Is this what you hope or what you genuinely think could happen?

Team for Reading?

.........................positional play not very good, IMHO.............................

Really?!?! Doesnt really get beaten by his man and good at going forward. Other then Adomah for Boro i cant think of many that have really troubled him. One of our most consistent performers if you ask me. O'Connelll should be fighting for the CB position.

Team for Reading?

Quite a big game already because if we can't beat a struggling Reading side on Saturday, our expectations for the season need to be lowered. IMO.

Our pitch on Saturday will be much better than the pitches at Sheff Wed and Blackpool were last winter, so there will be no reason to postpone. Clarke is doing a Mourinho and deflecting attention from his team who haven't won in their last 7 home matches or scored in 6!

We're at home so no need for 2 defensive midfielders, so same team as Burnley except Colin in for Mac. Hopefully the bench will be stronger with Saunders, Mac, Barbet, O'connell & Yennaris available.

Very interesting. I was thinking on similar lines.

We'd have to play very high up the pitch - or our wing backs would get too stretched. But it would give us more bodies up front and an opportunity to press further up the pitch. It might work if (and only if) the two front men were prepared to really work hard when we weren't in possession, closing down potential long balls over the top.

I don't think MD will be brave enough to risk it. But I might!!

Team for Reading?

In view of our rather long injury list, a squad that still needs time to gel together, and ongoing search for striker/others, which would you really have preferred tonight?----

A damp Capital Cup night in Sheffield, effectively taking 2 days out of training this week, or the reality of the Oxford defeat, and more time to prepare for Reading, who are away at Portsmouth.

Personally, I think exiting that competition is a blessing in disguise, and allows us to concentrate on every Championship game, and one less game for possible more injury problems.

Just to add re the team that Dean seems to be upping his game this season, leaner and fitter looking, whilst Tarky seems to have initially stalled.
All due respect, but would like Jake to focus on his football, but don't see him as a captain driving the team on when going is tough.
Harlee and Mac have that extra level of passion, and never give up attitude, but guess their places initially not seen as regular slots, but that is changing. I would have Harlee as captain.

However, both doing well compared to others at the moment, and I think we need their tough edge and commitment, with Mac in midfield.

The only change I'd make is Colin for Mac and possibly Mac for KK to give him a breather ......there's not a lot else we can change with the squad numbers...hopefully Saunders and nico back on the bench to join Bonham , barbet , KK , oconnell and udamaga
