With big games coming thick and fast I think Rosler needs to rest some players and allow some of the fringe players some game time. Think we can still put out a pretty strong team and quite frankly this game, whilst fairly important for confidence and continuity is the least important.

Depends a bit on the FA Cup result and draw. If we get through the FA Cup and get a decent draw (either in terms of cash or future progress) then I'd make as many changes as the rules (and our squad) allow for Southend. If we're out of the FA Cup, I'd go for a slightly stronger team... but I'd rest Donaldson in either case. Also depends which loanees we're allowed to play in the 2 games

youre quite wrong....a succesful team wants to win ALL it's games and a promotion with a nice cup thrown in (and at wembley in front of big gate if we can play one of the bigger northern teams in the final) as well will do nicely thanks

sometimes some of our fans should try and remember that we've only had 4 promotions and a handful of decent cup runs in the last 35 years.....we're hardly spoilt with success are we lol

My thinking was that Forshaw and Forrester should be rested given their fitness problems earlier in the season, and we need to keep Donaldson fresh for the Christmas fixtures. Lee should play instead of Moore as it's a cup game, leaving only one more permitted change. Hodson and Trotta need games to get up to full match sharpness. The team I've selected doesn't have any development squad players in it - all our first team squad members should be good enough and all will benefit from match practice.

It doesn't sound like Douglas is fully fit so I don't see any reason to risk him. With a huge game against MK Dons on Saturday I'd be tempted to rest a few key players also. I believe 6 of the starting line up have to start on Saturday so we need to be mindful of that. I'd go:

I understand your thinking mate, and if our fringe players can't get a game here, they may never get a game, but we are a young team, and if they can not play twice a week then something is wrong, id like to see the strongest team possible, and keep our streak going.

Hayes needs games and not sure we'll play one up front against Southend so my only change would be Hayes for either Saunders or Dallas (probably Saunders will play)

We have a small squad and there is always the likelyhood of injuries and suspensions to key players, something we can really do without and fatigue from playing too many games. Players like Forshaw are young and have never played a full season so we don't to burn them out.
Let's put the fringe players out and see what happens and let the best players focus on getting out of league one, because if we don't I fear some of our "stars" will be off in May...............?

Don't disagree about playing the likes of Dallas and German, Barron, Hodson etc & the risks of fatigue but do disagree that the JPT is a tin pot trophy. Promotion is undoubtedly the key objective but how much other silverware are we seriously going to be competing for and I don't consider a day out at Wembley with a crowd of approx 40k a 'tin pot' day out for any Brentford fan. I beleive Uwe can field a competitive team to beat Southend without risking our league campaign and would hope to progress.

I assume that there is no expectation that injured players should have to turn out to comply with the rules.
