Team v Barrow

As we are a mere 2 days away I felt the overwhelming urge to start this thread :sorted:

Hamer
Osborne
Bennett
Philips
Dickson
O'Connor
Pead
Bean
Poole
MacDonald
Elder

Now this team will be dependent on whether Newton or Williams are fit to play. If either are then obviously Pead will drop to the bench. I included Poole as he has had his rest and should be raring to go for Friday though Wood can count himself very unlucky after Saturday and yesterday.

Poole will play but I think he'll stick with Wood. Might give Pead a start though as he'll play RB at Accy. Williams & Newton wont be playing :(

I think it will be even more interesting to name the subs as we need 7!!

I agree with the team selection above ( I have never got a team right though up to now!!)

Nick Logan

NB could be useful to throw up front late on, his height could be an advantage, but his Michael Dobson knees could prove a problem. Nick Logan would be useful back up for the right side, the Andy Feeleyesque figure could sort out a few of those Northern boys, and the crimson shirt will no doubt throw a few of them off their stride !

I'd go for maddogging's team, with Pead given a good half-hour if we're winning, as he'll probably fill in for Osborne against Accrington.

Me and a few others have wanted the Wood,Dickson combo on the left,but Poole is the high scoring enigma thats difficult to leave out.Playing him on the RW may be an ideal solution as he may be able to cut in and shoot with his left foot,leaving the attacking,crossing duo on the left side

If Ademola isn't working on the right, put Kev there and bring Pead on to sure up the midfield. Down to the bare bones it seems.

Can't understand when in a tough looking away game people can even countenance dropping Wood who has proved effective both as an attacker and defender.

Can't imagine he won't start - and there is also a space for Poole on the right.

Dont get me wrong, Wood has impressed me, but i just do not think he is as good as Dickson or Poole.

I think Poole will start for Bowditch. Otherwise cannot see any changes to the same eleven that started on Tuesday. If we had played a Saturday game followed by a Tuesday game we would not be worried about fitness, stamina etc, so a Tuesday to Friday is the same break as a Saturday to Tuesday game.

Persnally I'd rather see Kettering Bee on the wing. Defo another Ginola in the making, would get tons of fan mail after an outing on TV

Tend to agree, despite some dodgy corners and the odd stray pass he was outstanding for much of the game against Luton and am not sure AS will drop him.

He has got himself fit for this level and has shown he has an exceptional engine. The last 20 minutes he was as energetic as the first 20 which against Barrow could be crucial.

He is also linking up very well with Dickson, dropping back when needed allowing Ryan to push forward.

Who will play right wing if needed is the question...

According to AS in todays Chronicle he's struggling to name seven subs and may ask a couple of supporters to bring their boots with them :D:D

'rested' ;) the classic !! he was dropped simple as. Can't believe the amount of people on here that want to change the team from Tuesday.
