Team v Hull?

I would guess something like this:

George/Lennie

Lawrence
Sobers
Gayle/Fitz the elder
Myers

Peters
Hutch
Pratley/O'Connor
Salako

Harrold
Fitz the younger

Subs:
George/Lennie
O'Connor/Pratley
Gayle/Fitz the elder
Burton
Tabb/Rankin

Ideally, it would be nice to rest Pratley/O'Connor and Hutch as well, but there just aren't enough "senior" bodies to go round, unless some of the youngsters get drafted in as well, which is also quite possible, especially as the first leg of our play off semi final is less than a week after the Hull game. Most of the players likely to play a serious role in the play offs can be given just, say, half a game or an hour at most.

Team v Hull?

Something along the lines of...

Bankole

O'Connor
Fitz
Myers
Gayle

Peters
Hutch
Lawrence
Salako

Harrold
Fitz

Much depends on how much Martin wants 4th place.
If you see his comments on another thread, you'll see that he doesn't care at all about this, and has commented that he will be resting players. That HAS to be the right thing to do IMO - it's been a long hard season for some of those guys and they certainly deserve a few days (and one game) off.

No subs then, W13?

They'll probably be youngsters.

I can't see Allen starting Solako, surely he will want to rest him?

Team v Hull?

There will be changes but I don't think it will be a complete reserve team.

My guess would be that Nelson, Turner, Sodje, Talbot, Hargreaves and Burton will definitely be rested, the rest may well play.

 Don't know the names of the Under 12's :(

As for Salako, it depends whether MA sees him as a first teamer for the playoffs. Personally I don't, but he also has to put a side out to compete for 4th place.

Team v Hull?

As a kind gesture why not name Bill Axbey as a sub.

From the club's website Martin says
"Saturday is going to be a day that I'm personally going to try and enjoy. These players are now in need of a much needed rest. Several have been playing with knocks and I am going to give them a break before preparation for the next competition starts on Monday. They have played 56 games with many of them in their first full season and I have got to do what is in the best interests of this Football Club. I will give debuts to some of the young players who have done so well and have worked hard, and if we had been "mid table Tommies" some of them would have played earlier. They are going to get their chance, and I personally will be very proud and happy for them. As I said, hopefully I can enjoy the occasion!"

So given that I think we can expect a very very different team from Tuesday.

Team v Hull?

San Lee to get a chance? Or is he unavailable?

Team v Hull?

I love the dismissive phrase, "mid-table Tommies"! Like Brizzle you mean, MA?
lol

Team v Hull?

Personally, I'm looking forward to a good chorus of Welcome Home.

There, that should give you a clue as to who I expect to see start. If you're over 40 that is.

But if one of them's blind and the other one is a skinny woman, I certainly hope that the rest of the team is on top form, otherwise we'll be thrashed on Saturday :)

Team v Hull?

bankole in goal? i is it worth playing? we will want lennie in goal to at least give ourselves a chance of winning, and get fourth.
4th would be better as the home tie will be the 2nd leg! the desicive one!

Team v Hull?

Iv'e just heard I'm centre forward, Aberdeen Flyer is left back and my son is in midfield - a blend of young, old and bloody old. rofl rofl rofl

They do deserve a rest and just hope all the team (and the crowd) are there at 2.45 for a standing ovation

I hope MA has written to Dangerous and warned him there will be a weakened team on Saturday, don't want him ripping up his play-off ticket

with MA desciding he doesnt care who he faces in the PO, we might as well go out and out attack to give our players some much needed shooting practise

Maybe on the bench BBBA but bloody hell, you're facing the likes of Stuart Ellliott, Stuart Green, Nicky Barmby, Carl Fagan - would it be clever to get a hiding on Saturday? I think MA has to shuffle his pack very carefully on Saturday..wouldn't be surprised if Michael Turner isn't rested but is played alongside Fitz the Old with Sobers on the bench in case its going ok..and Marcus can always fill in if FTO keels over......I'm sure Ryan Peters will be out there though to see if he can replicate Tiger's goal in the last game of last season. Similar player.

Plesae Martin, don't play George Badgoalie!!!!!

Team v Hull?

Bank Robber

D.H. Lawrence
Sir Garfield Sobers
Mike Myers
John Salako

Martin Peters
Owen Hargreaves (needs to build up fitness)
Michelle Gayle
Jays Tabbs

Dave Harrold
Fitz

Subs: Lennie, Jason Lee, Older Fitz, Osborne, Mark Morrison

as the gaffa says we need to rest some players but we still have some STARS to replace them lol

Team v Hull?

I would like to see mostly senior players who "need games" to increase cover / options for the play-offs, with a couple of the up & coming. I also agree that we must be able to compete, we don't want to get an absolute hiding in front of a full house, there must be a balance...

George / Lennie (45 mins each??)

Lawrence - Fitz the Elder - Sobers - Myers

Peters- Hutch-Hargreaves-Gayle

Fitz the Younger - Harrold

Subs - Most Promising Youth Team Members

Team v Hull?

Nelson, Talbot and Burton definitely need to be rested, probably also Sodje and Burton.

I'd play Lennie in goal as a rare opportunity to blood him in a game where the result doesn't matter. If MA is thinking of retaining Sobers or Lee then they should be played for the same reason (assuming they're fit).

We should however keep some semblance of a first team squad out there - I wouldn't mind losing, but getting stuffed just before the play-offs might not be best for morale. Perhaps:

Lennie

O'Connor
Sobers
Frampton
Myers

Peters
Hargreaves
Lawrence
Salako

Fitz
Lee

Subs Bankole, Fitz senior, Gayle, Tabb, Harrold

If they can get there early enough, my team for Saturday would be;

In goal
abee - nothing gets past him

Defence
Larry Signey - Jumps to Bees defense at almost every opportunity
Leicester Bee - A strong defender of the faith
Edmundo - very leftsided defender
Nigel Brooks - opposing players will struggle to get round him

Midfield
ineedtherapybee - possibly the most creative amongst us
Wee Dave - calming midfield influence
Greenholme - creative playboy type
Daddybee - has provided excellent back to one half of the front line

Strikers
nocoat - famous for putting a few away
Loughton Bee - Has been known to score, particularly away from home

Subs
Ace Face - good defender but has gone of the boil lately
WarrenBee - versatile player, coming back from injury, can play anywhere
Bigbee - creative, but volatile, can play 15 minutes (before getting sent off)
Bee H - could do a job on the rightside, works well when abee is in goal
banana - may stay on the bench, tends to put country before club.

I think rest all the key players-At the end of the day in the play-offs we have to beat 2 teams and at moment looking knackered. I know would prefer avoid Tranmere, but rather play them with fully fit, fresh squad than Pool, Bournemouth, Wednesday with half fit, weary team

I would have thought we could forgo the back 5 entirely and put Joe Bourke in goal on his own as he seems to enjoy trying to defend the indefensible!

In the selected squad MA seems to be mentioning names of subs who he 'let go' of earlier in the year?????

We are going to get hammered by Hull.

Tranmere looks more and more likely for our semi games then.

Team v Hull?

i'm sending my season ticket back!!!!!!!! :( :(

Team v Hull?

6 reasonably experienced players, a couple who have played a few games and 3 kids with no experience. Can't argue with MA's selection given the risk of injury or red cards to key players

Am assuming Lennie is injured.

Given the rest of the team, Tabb's appearance is perhaps the biggest surprise, and he'll probably feel he's playing to win a place in the play-offs.

Team v Hull?

The bloke behind me won't know who to slag off. Peace at last!!!

Team v Hull?

Who cares if we get leathered? The sun will be shining, the pressure will be off and we can enjoy the last day of the season and look forward to the play-offs.

Yeah, thank God the guy behind me won't be able to slag off Talbot throughout the game (although he can always do it when the non-playing players come out for the presentation(s) before the game!!)
