Think thats a pretty strong team to be honest. Think we are missing Marvin but he failed a fitness test and somene told me he was on crutches :(

Haven't gone for subs as apart from BJ & Pead I'm not sure who is fit  We sure dont want any more injuries.

I don't think Poole will be dropped on Tuesday so the team picks itself, assuming Newton will be missing. Anderson, Wood, Johnson, Ademola and Ochoa will be subs.

Team v Luton

Hamer
Johnson and Newton ( hopefully ok)
Bennett, Phillips
KOC, Wood, Dickson, Bean ( yup no Poole until he realises that he is paid to play 90 minutes and weekly)
Bowditch, Macdonald

subs- Anderson/Poole/Elder/Ademola/Pead

Four points from six, and unlucky not to be six, and you want to completely dismantle the team - dropping some players who have played very well.

Man management not your strong point?

With three games in seven days I would be very surprised if a few players were not rested in the true sense on Tuesday.

Elder is going to be a must against Barrow so maybe Bowditch and Mac to start up front again and as many have said Poole looks like he needs a rest, Wood did enough to warrant a starting place.

I would agree with that. I'm not in favour of resting lots of players ahead of the Barrow game, as some people seem to want, as the FA Cup is of little importance compared to our league campaign.

I would keep Poole on the bench, though. He is a very good player who stepped up a gear at the start of the season, but is now either carrying a knock or running out of steam. I think that we need to rest him occasionally, in order to get the best out of him over longer periods of the season. We have enough cover down the left now that Dickson is up and running again, and Poole could be a very useful supersub!

I like Poole alot, but yesterday felt like we were playing with ten men until Wood came on for him.

Like a few others I think we should give him Tuesday off. He doesnt seem to have recovered from the ankle injury that he appeared to get against Lincoln.
Have him on the bench by all means but I, personally, wouldnt start with him Tuesday & Friday...

Not true. The money from a big 3rd round game at top Prem club and/or on TV would make a lot of difference to BFC

Imagine if we got a decent draw the year DJ was sold to balance the books. Keeping him would have made our league campaign, as it was he was sold and it broke us

I agree, Friday is the biggest game of the season so far.

Finances dictate it is so.

Too right, been saying for weeks that Poole needs a rest or a kick up the backside and we need Dickson and Wood to watch.

No way on earth will Dickson not play, he gives us width and is a good defender too. Poole has looked out of sorts of late ..........but whether or not to drop him is another question, it nice to think we have a selection problem though......for all the right reasons

That coupled with a complete and utter dislike of Osborne, no matter what sort of performance he puts in.

Absolutely. As Markeybee said earlier, I don't think he's recovered from his ankle injury and Wood's excellent cameo suggests that now would be a good time to give Glenn a short rest to aid the recovery of an injury that's clearly still troubling him.

I think the selection depends on whether Scott thinks Poole is fit enough or needs to be rested and whether he wants to play Elder.

The back five, central midfield and MacDonald are a given and Bowditch will almost certainly play somewhere.

Given Wood's showings and the lack of a right sided player I wonder whether playing Poole on the right has been considered. Could be interesting with him cutting in towards goal off that flank.

I thought about that possibility with Poole, but would do that at Barrow with Bowditch unavailable. Elder and Mac have to start tomorrow, and Bowditch from the right, who didn't do bad when he shifted out there against Darlo.

There was an argument at Vale that suggested that we took over when Elder went off and Dean and Charlie went up front. The other argument was that we scored a second and Vale visibly caved in and remembered they had 10 men, I like the second argument.
I was thinking the same about Bowditch, he needs to play 90 minutes as 3 days later we have a game that he can't be used in and of course we need to play Elder. Surely playing defensive minded midfielders on the right has it limitations and haven't we done it enough now. Bowditch is clever but has no pace which is a drawback for the right midfield. However he has enough ability to control a ball and find a pass or two which normally end up to a bloke in red n white. It will also give Marvin more time to recover if this is needed. To go to a sh*theap like Luton who alwways play a physical game without Elder would be suicide, they looked like scoring at every attack, corner, free kick etc in the JPT and we need his height and strength in both boxes.

If correct, with Newton out, that will mean Kev at right back?
Would it be worth recalling Pead to play there as to not upset the BEan O'connor partnership?

Where did Karleigh pick up his 5th booking ?

(a) Kiddiminister (for Oxford)
(a) Barrow and (a) Northwich (for Eastbourne)

and (h) Darlo on Sat

WEB, where was his 5th ?

See the yellow peril thread.

He had an extra one for Eastbourne in a match that nornmal stats would not cover but which was a first team match - a Setanta Shield game.
Saturday was his fifth.

Agree with this line up. Think Poole is in need of a rest and Wood was really effective when he came on constantly looking to run at defenders.

thanks, I think .....
