Should AS put his slender hands into his deep pockets of players ? Or should he try to stick to a wiining team that has played 120 minutes two days previous ?

He's certainly got a big decision to make about who to pick in goal.

Same side, assuming no injuries. That means Lee instead of Hamer in goal, as he deserves. There's a place on the bench for Simpson if he's fit.

Alexander took a knock; Charlie could hardly move; O'Connor was running on empty; with all the others having also played 120 minutes of high emotional drama and running faster and longer than they ever thought possible.

Time for a change, I think, that's what the squad is for. Saunders and Bean both played like they were possessed when they got the chance, why deny them?

Saunders put in some hard work and some good delivery from set pieces, he also did a good impression of Hong Kong Phooey whilst launching himself into some crazy but funny tackles. He stopped them one way or another but it usually meant another free kick for them, a man possesed who looked like he really wanted it.
Adams and Weston to start with the madman to come on if they tire.

I think Sam commited more fouls in 15 minutes than he has in the past 2 seasons....;) good on him :)

I wonder after 120 minutes of football the players legs must of been a bit heavy soo maybe a few players should be rested.
But i hope Lee gets a chance

I think he will have to make changes or we could be very sluggish. Give the players who are raring to get their season started a game like Mckraken, Wood, Lee, Forster there all good players.

Some players will need a rest after last night. Charlie and Weston definitely need one so Wood and Forster to come in. Guessing Kev isn't 100% so Bean gets a game and I think Karleigh deserves a night off after his recent explots. As I said in the other thread, i'd stick with Hamer for now but I don't see the need to extend his loan at the end of the month. This team hopefully will still be enough to get a much needed three points.

Obviously depending on knocks/injuries but all being available I would go with:

If Simpson isn't fit I'd start with Alexander but defo give Cort at least 35 minutes.

I know the defence will be knackered but the way they are playing I wouldn't want to break them up!

I suspect Hamer for Lee will be the only change if Simpson is unfit and all the others are. If Simpson fit then he will start in place of Adams, who will come on for the recovering Simpson during 2nd half.
Harsh on Lee, but then again apart from being cup tied what has Hamer done wrong to be dropped?

I agree. Hamer hasn't let in a goal since he's returned. Despite Lee's heroics, Hamer is still first choice. If only we'd had this goalkeeping quality a little earlier in the season, we might've gotten off to a better start in the league.

I'd go with the same 11, with Simpson for Adams the only possible change if he is fully recovered. Most importantly Lee should stay in goal after that outstanding performance. Otherwise it sends out a message to him that he is wasting his time trying to do well.

Well said that man.
My thoughts exactly. Although i still think Hamer is probably a better keeper than Lee, it sends out the completely wrong message if he's dropped as it's basically saying no matter how well you play, i have my favorites.

Lee is the long-term keeper for us and to drop him now would be a gross misjudgement. Not sure if KO'C and CM are fully fit so would start with Forster and Bean. This could be a game where substitutions could be the key factor for us and fresh legs may need to be introduced if some struggle after a hard week.

Everton are at Fulham Saturday and we have been moved to Friday so that we can all go and apologise to that nice Mr. Moyes for being such beasts on Tuesday. Fulham/Everton? Hope they both lose.

Got to keep the same (winning) side. After all, Rochdale came and blew us away 48 hours after playing Birmingham in the Cup, so we should hopefully perform the same and not be too knackered.
