Team v Preston

International torture break nearly over so thoughts turn back to the super Bees.. Team vs Preston? Can't see any real reason not to go with the 11 who started v Derby?


Raya, Canos, Dalsgaard, Jansson, Jeanvier, Henry. Norgaard, Jensen, Mbuemo, Watkins, Benrahma...

Subs: Gunnarsson, Clarke, PInnock, Mokotjo, DaSilva, Valencia, Karelis (poss wishful thinking!)

I think same as against Derby except with Pinnock back in for Dalsgaard who could be rested after playing for Denmark. It’d be great if Karelis were fit enough for a place on the bench.

If we're going to rest Dalsgaard we need to bring in Racic really as otherwise we have no-one to bring the ball out of defence...

Be interesting to see if Thomas is brave enough to keep Canós at wingback away from home at a team who are fairly physical . Wouldn’t be surprised to see Pinnock back and Dalsgaard at rb , be harsh on Canos as he’s probably be on the bench !

I'd certainly play Canos at RWB, it's his best position. In fact, i'd keep the same team as against Derby, if HD needs resting then so be it but I always prefer us with Henrik in the team, CB or RB.

I can't see us needing to rest Dalsgaard? He's only played the one game yesterday so shouldn't be an issue for him?

I would go with same team as well. Won’t know if Sergi can play rwb in a tough away game unless try him there, and to give him every chance of succeeding has to play alongside Henrik who will be more able to cover him And provide support than a more traditional Centre back.

Bench probably same with either Karelis or Racic (if Karelis not ready) in for Forss. Or do we need to include a home grown player if so Clarke or Racic ?

Yes I agree there’s no need to change the starting line up

Racic isn't home grown unfortunately, but pick one from Gunnarsson, Clarke or Zamburek

Really hope that Norgaard has benefited from the time - he was blowing hard with 20 minutes left against Derby. Kamo will have been thankful for the rest too.

Why should Kamo need the rest? He's only had 2 25 minute sub appearances this season so far?

I'd try to fit Kamo in somewhere just for the energy he brings to the midfield.

Normally takes a
couple weeks to recuperate (jet lag etc) from his International Matches

As it's a tough away game there's a temptation to play safe and move Dalsgaard back to wing-back, with a centre half coming in. We were so good against Derby that I hope Thomas resists that temptation and sticks with same team. It's possible we will be too open on right hand side, but it's worth trying for one away game. I think Canos should stay at RWB in home games, even if it turns out his defending isn't good enough for away games

I just watched TF say that we are better when we are attacking. We’ve been set out like that for most of this decade and it looks set to continue, better than ever.

So apparently everyone was wrong and it was stupid to put the same team out at Preston.. I think we need to give ourselves 3 more games at the most. Somethings got to change.... :thetruth:

he was trying something different to change the game. Sometimes it works, others not.. wasn't helped by defensive cock up that ended the contest..

presumably the plan was to get more control of the miidfield? agree, a bit odd and in hindsight it certainly didn't work, but at least he's prepared to do something. With Marcondes and Forss gone and Karelis not fit yet the options to change things are looking a little limited at the moment sadly..
