Team versus Boro

I thought about trying Ollie down the middle but decided against. Would go with Kamo for Nico for a more robust midfield

We always play better with Nico, Kamo has been a bit hit and miss for me so far and Boro are the kind of team we always shrink against.

I think Ollie down the middle would work. That goal came from him running in anticipating the ball and attacking it. Maupay hasn't quite got that side of things down as yet. So many crosses at the Derby game needed that kind of movement.

Fair enough but Sawyers always seems more advanced than the other two midfielders to me.

A bit hit and miss so far, perhaps, but less likely to be muscled off the ball.

I think we should stick with the team V Derby. The only problem we have is we do always seem to struggle against Borough, but funnily enough they always played like Derby did but with better players (under Karanka that is). Not sure what to expect from them now but I do know Monk is a shrewd manager and it'll be another battle.

I wouldn't be apposed to trying Ollie in the middle either.

Same again. If Egan and Bjelland are fit, then play them. The rest of the team picks itself. That cb pairing could be crucial to shutting up shop and keeping them out.

Need everyone on their A game, same as against Derby, but can't start as we have vs Bolton or Derby otherwise if they get a head start, it could be another wasteful journey.
Nico and Woods need to take a grip of midfield, otherwise maybe Kamo in for Nico, but not sure there is room for both Woods and Kamo.
Mepham did very well vs Derby but don't throw him in the deep end yet, bigger choice will be between Egan / Barbet and Bjelland.

Same again. With our luck both Egan and Bjelland will be out but hopefully one of them will make it.

Despite their league position I think Boro are one of the best sides in the division so I'd bring in Kamo for this one and push Nico and Sawyers a bit further forward.

Watkins can play down the middle with Maupay on the bench - he'll be a useful player to bring on later, whether it's to try and get us back in the game or to hit them on the break if we're leading.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Same team as last Saturday ideally, but the same team as Tuesday if Egan's still not quite 100%

Must mean Bjelland is still injured?

Not necessarily, B teamers often travel with the first team to away games to get used to the routine.. Could also be a precaution..

Subs - whoever is fit? - Daniels Mokotjo McEachran Shaibu Jozefzoon + 2 others (Ilias & Archibald?) - bloody young squad!!

Change of formation with Sawyers replacing Watkins out wide, and Watkins in the middle just behind Maupay
