Team vs Exeter

Lee
O'Connor Legge Osborne Woodman
Saunders Diagouraga Bean Weston
MacDonald Alexander

Subs: Moore, Balkestein, Spillane, Grabban, Bignall.

Tudur-Jones cup tied and I suspect Simpson is still injured.

I think the only tough call Forster has to make is whether to play Bean or Spillane (and possibly moving O'Connor back to midfield). I'd probably keep Spillane on the bench to give ourselves more options as the game goes on.

Perfect IMO

Will Saunders be able to take the field again for the 2nd time in 3 days? Looked shattered after 20mins yesterday and hammy injuries need time to recover. Last thing we want is for it to go again.

But if Simpson is injured and the only other option is Grabban, you'll have to get out there Sam! Bean in for OTJ. Also think NF should name himself as a sub, if it goes to pens he's one of our takers isn't he?

Spillane could be an option for RM if Saunders is knackered? Would rather him than Grabban.

"Exeter hope to welcome back 12-goal striker Jamie Cureton (hamstring) for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern area final against Brentford.

Keeper Ben Hamer should return despite carrying a groin strain, while Matt Taylor, David Noble, James Dunne and Liam Sercombe are pushing for recalls. "

kinda hope these two won't be fit...

Team vs Exeter

Same as yesterday, but Spillane in for cup-tied Tudur Jones (O'Connor moving into midfield). I'd lose Wright from the bench to take the number of subs down to the required 5.

Team vs Exeter

Probably same as Saturday with Bean in for OJT.

Must remember that whilst they can score goals the Exeter defence has proven from time to time that it can concede with the best of them, for that reason can make a case for Bignall to have longer on the pitch as his pace is frightening his shooting is pretty good, control mmm would be great to get him running at tired defenders and who knows if he can get a run into the penalty area he is up against a keeper who has form for bringing opposition forwards down!!!!

Why would Nicky want to put KOC in midfield ?, he had his best game for months yesterday at right back............his correct position !!!
Sorry hoof ball days are over ....

Team vs Exeter

why wont Nicky pick himself?? he was MOTM in the 1st leg :(

Team vs Exeter

Same as yesterday with Bean in for OTJ and that will leave us with 8 possible penalty takers:

Ko'C, Woodman, Saunders, Weston, Alexander, Macdonald and Grabban and Spillane off the bench

Team vs Exeter

Surely Bignall will know all about Hamer and should be able to exploit any weaknesses

A major doubt whether Saunders can manage two games in such quick succession and would replace him with Spillaine if he cant make it as he is closest like for like player we have and could excel without defensive duties and encouragement from Forster. Bean in for OTJ. Imagine Saunders will be on bench along with Moore, Bignal, Grabban and Balkestein.

Lee
Spillane
Woodman
Osbourne
Legge
Saunders
Diagouraga
Bean
Weston
Macdonald
Alexander

Subs
Moore
Grabban
O'connor
Bignall
Balkestein
This except Kev instead of Bean, unless Saunders isn't fit then put Kev at Right Back, played well there yesterday although didn't have that much to do and Spillane probably plays better at Right Wing than Right Back.

Team vs Exeter

Lee
KOC Osborne Legge Woodman
Saunders Spillane Dave Weston

Spot on i think. Would leave O'Connor at right back and put Bean in the middle with Dave aswell. Got Spillane and Grabban to come on, also Simpson if he isnt out.

Team vs Exeter

Spillane got tortured in first leg, Leave K Oc at right back, think bean and dave too defensive in midfield, dont know too much about the new boys but either grabban / bignall in midfield with Dave ??

Team vs Exeter

Lee
Kevin Legge Osborne Woodman
Saunders Bean Dave Weston
Charlie Alexander.

Moore. Spillane. Pim. Grabban. Bignall.

Dave and Bean in midfield would have brought me out in a cold sweat two weeks ago.

lol Two strong midfielders, hunt the ball, get it out wide to two fast and creative wingers. It's the new Brentford don't you know.

....................I'll watch out for it tomorrow..........

I'd have brought Bean in for Tudur-Jones anyway, but if the latter's cup-tied that decision is made for us. I think Kev may be at RB for experience/reliability while Sam S is at RM - good as he (Sam) is going forward, he doesn't do his defensive duties too well, so Forster may feel that Spillane isn't the right option there. Drop Wright from the bench and we have the squad

Team vs Exeter

Does anyone know if away goals count today ? I know there is no extra time.....

Team vs Exeter

In terms of team I think it will be same as sat but Bean in for OTJ. Simmo might make bench

Team vs Exeter

Robbie Simpson is fit to play tonight.

Team vs Exeter

Can't see us risking Saunders in a new position in a match this important.
I'd go:

Lee
O'Connor Osborne Legge Woodman
Saunders Diagouraga Bean Weston
Alexander MacDonald

Team vs Exeter

Good to see everyone agrees that KOC should play right-back.

Lee
KOC Osbourne Legge Woodman
Saunders Diagouraga Bean Weston
Mac Alexander

Substitutions:
Spillane to come on for Saunders if he runs out of juice, Simpson for Alexander.

Team vs Exeter

In the league match at Exeter before Xmas, Harley and their midfield were far
superior to ours (KOC and Bean). Harley in particular fed Cureton and both were
a real threat.
Whoever we play in midfield tonight (and I have a feel for KOC returning there just
for this one) someone has to get hold of Harley and do a job on him.
I'm far from convinced Bean is up to it - think we may see some goals but
fear a 3-1 defeat.
