Team vs Luton

Winning formula has been lost somewhat due to injuries and fatigue. Reset button needed.

So he wasn’t great today. Agreed. He still came out with an assist and made some excellent forays. He might well be needed in the centre on Tuesday but I would be wary of binning or even resting him at the moment.

Roerslev can have the odd game here and there but Tuesday is now must win.

He has been superb all season and had one poor game today, no coach would drop someone in such circumstances. Sends out a poor message and would be totally unfair based on one poor game.

More like rest than drop - 3 games in a week has been difficult for him this season.

Plus, Roerslev earned a chance to start today.

Several times this season and last when we’ve had three games in a week and Henrik has played each game he’s struggled.

Frank on a few occasions has opted for Roerslev as a result and he’s been excellent each time.

Unlikely that Jeanvier will be out unless injured. If so then Racic in for him. Only other change Baptiste for Marcondes.

People are allowed dissenting views. Not one (not playing HD) I agree with but hardly suggesting Valencia should play centre back next game.

Not sure Dervisoglus ready yet. Surprised Fosu didn’t come on as he was a real threat at Birmingham. Re Dalsgaard, no-ones castigating him. Just saying it wasn’t his best game and that with Roerslev looking so good resting him for the odd game shouldn’t be considered ‘bonkers’.

Halil looked like he was playing in slippers today, looked completely unsteady throughout his late cameo

Defence and attack as per Blackburn but Baptiste in for Marcondes in midfield. Dasilva close to getting the chop for me but Luton might be the game for him to rediscover his mojo

Dalsgaard had a poor game yesterday. sh*t happens. He’s got plenty of brownie points in his locker.
Dropping him is not on the cards .Roerslev will be good but at one stage yesterday he completely went to sleep at a throw in and left his man unattended in a dangerous position. HD had a right go at him. Roerslev also went to sleep a couple of times against Leicester.
Baptistery in for Marcondes.
The rest selects itself injury’ s aside.
Could do with Jansson back instead of JJ though.

Like someone mentioned on here we should be using the word rotate not drop. The players at least should be respected by using the word rotate' especially Dalsgaard who in my opinion has been brilliant this season and shouldn't be rotated unless he requires resting, this could also be said about Rico and Ollie who have played every game this season so far and both could probably do with resting themselves, but would TF take that chance very unlikely.

Assuming Jeanvier is still injured and the others from Sat are all fit, I’d go with the below:

Josh needs a rest IMO and Marcondes with fresher legs, deserves another opportunity, although he wasn’t great on Sat he does give the side some added energy and spark.

OK here goes. I thinkg Marcondes should start against Luton. wasn't good during the part of the game after Blackburn scored, but nor were many of our players. EM is the replacement for Jensen and if he isn't playing I want a flair attacking midfielder against Luton. Baptiste looks great but I think he is similar to Kamo (upgrade). Playing him instead of EM would bring on Luton. I want us to attack them and get an early goal. Hopefully JJ is ok to start and Rico. So same starting 11 that started Saturdday for me. If we have that many chances against Luton as we did against Blackburn I think it will be a different outcome.

He doesn't tend to rotate players too much and I reckon he'll want to give that 11 a chance to make up for Saturday.

With 12 games to go, every point is vital, giving people a 2nd chance is way down the list of priorities. (play well - keep the shirt / play poorly - on the bench)

You might not be far off. When talking about Jensen being out, Marcondes was the first player Frank mentioned as cover.... cue meltdown on matchday thread if so! lol

I think Josh needs a rest - he looked off the pace to often on Saturday and made some poor decisions - played nowhere near the form he showed earlier in the season.

Do the club still have access to a sports psychologist, IMHO Marcondes is still trying too hard, he appears to be feeling the pressure to be outstanding. It's a tough one for Thomas and his staff, support him by showing faith and starting him, or completely shatter him and rest him. I think they will start him hoping he can nick a goal or two and see a performance we have been waiting for. So maybe midfield will be Norgaard, Baptister and EM.

Dalsgaard for me has been up there for player of the season, when we were struggling at the start of the campaign he was our best player for me. No reason to drop him, Baptiste. Halil is not ready, he needs more bench minutes. He has barely played in this team. I look forward to getting Sergi back as we miss his energy and work ethic when we are up against it. If JJ starts tonight, we aren't getting a clean sheet IMO - Armstrong's movement gave him the run around big time.

I don't think he should be starting but I think it's unfair to say he was given the runaround by Armstrong. He scored twice but I don't think either can be attributed to JJ.
