Notts County got 3 players in on loan today. I reckon Ball will come straight in for the suspended Haber who got sent off the other night. I'm hoping they still bench McGregor as i think he is their best player and his currently their top scorer. Grealish is supposedly dangerous although not seen him yet myself. Campbell-Ryce still has pace down the wing - just hope we put our mark on the midfield against likely Liddle and Boucard.

Yes Uwe will make changes I think he wants to give Savile a breather ans suspect Diagouraga will be the replacement and definitely Harris needs to take a rest on becnh but who replaces: Grigg, Saunders or even Fillo. Finally Trotta he will be rested but is it Grigg or Farid who takes place?

I agree, & it certainly seems that Fillo is being brought up to speed for a re-appearance.

Don't really want to see any changes because of the great results of late, but we have had 2 top intense exhausting games over 4 days and some change might be inevitable with perhaps Saville, Harris & Trotta taking time out, we have a strong bench and should be able to cope ok, but Uwe will be mindful that Notts Co have just drafted in 3 new loan players for the weekend, they are bottom of the table with 13 losses, on paper we should demolish them, but it's not unknown for us to come unstuck playing teams in this position, I've seen it all before, I felt more confident of a victory playing Woles & Peterborough than I do over this game, I wouldn't like to be in Uwe's shoes for this one, it's tricky!!

Gosh not easy as two tough games recently and also I think Douglas was ill on Tuesday night. He, I think, was given pills at the start of each half. For me the basis of our run has been consistency in the starting 11 and in the subs. And the league is more important than the cup, for me, so I would be tempted to make some small changes for the cup and not on Saturday. Griggs is knocking on the door though. Farid I fear is destined to be our super sub. Filllo may replace Harris if Harris returns after Xmas so may be being pencilled in for some game time but not as a starter at present. Then there is trotta! On balance I would start with him but he needs to score else I think Griggs will get the nod. So same starters as Tuesday and same subs.

As for formation I am with those who felt against wolves our opening tempo was poor and especially against a team low on confidence would start as 4-3-3 but be prepared for a long defensive slog so we could easily revert to 4-1-4-1 and grind out a result. Anyway we can speculate for ages but will know by 3:00 ish on Saturday the line up and by 5;00 ish the formation(s).

Same team starting for me tbh unless injuries or fatigue are kicking in. Button worries the hell out of me but the clean sheets and not to blame for Boro's goals on Tuesday night mean no convincing reason to change. I'd love to see Logan back but we've been so assured and Mac's performances so outstanding that again their is no logical argument for the change.

Up top no changes either unless it isn't working and Uwe needs to freshen it up. I see no compelling evidence for Grigg starting and whilst I'm a massive Farid fan I think Trotta has been working hard and scoring regularly and should continue.

Strictly speaking, a "Tinker" (proper noun) is someone who works with Tin and other metals by hand. This usually involves repeated hammering and adjusting etc.

From this, the verb "to tinker" has come to mean to meddle with something endlessly and (usually) unsuccessfully.

And a "tinkerer" is someone who tinkers, as above.

Whereas "Tinkerman" is just irritating.

Just been watching on the Notts County site a montage of highlights of this fixture going back to the 80s. A lot of draws, a couple of heavy defeats, but at least 3 shocking refereeing decisions in County's favour. Plus Uwe getting sent to the stands, which will always be a Uwe highlight

Get Logan back as a good attacking option. Replace Douglas in centre mid with Alan Mac as he's much better going forward. County are bottom of the league and games like this should be there for the taking. If we create chances we've got several options up front to stick them so any two from Clayton, Farid, Grigg or Trotta. They're all proven goalscorers if we make enough chances.
