Team vs QPR

Tough one this, we need a win but a few squad players deserve a chance in the cup. Assume none of the injured players are back.

I agree giving others a chance but we need to give players confidence too.

Some talking points:

- Daniels grew into the Wimbledon game and actually looked really good. Think he deserves a go in the cups, Bentley hasn't been THAT magnificent this season.
- Time to give the Egan/Barbet partnership a chance - it is the future - given their ages and contract stability. One right-sided, one left-footer. One ball carrier, one stopper.
- Colin probably deserves a start at right back - Dalsgaard has been good going forward but a lot of goals have come down his side.
- Not sure about throwing Ilias in at the deep end, but he is our only natural LB now - given Henry is out and Field on loan. Perhaps you could but Bjelland there.
- Personally, I'd name Nico captain over Egan. Take the pressure off JE, he doesn't seem to be thriving on it.
- Crazy to see how thin we are in the middle now. We started with an embarrassment of riches, but with Woods, McLeod, Judge, McEachran, Kerschbaumer and Cole all out of the fold - Westbrooke is our only option outside of the three selected. Need a couple of them back soon.
- I presume we won't see Jota. If he's fit, I'd play him over Clarke.

I think you are way off the mark.

Dean, barbet, colin, Mok, Nico, Joz, Sawyers, watkins all unlikely to start. I would love Maupay to keep going but probably won't start either.

It will be QPR's first team versus reserves.

The way they keep winning? They are crap. Ollie has got a poor collection of players motivated and they had a good start, I would love to put a first team out, knock them off their perch and get out season up and running. The reason we will play a weakened team is because we always do in this cup and not because we are scared of them because they "keep winning"

Mainly B team and a few fringe players that need game time. The last thing we need at the minute is any further injuries in a competition of little value.

Probably what I would go for too, unless Maupay is fit and Vibe is expected to be OK for Saturday, in which case I'd start Maupay instead of Clarke and adjust the positions accordingly.

It's a derby ffs, put a strong side out and win. We need a boost and a defeat to that lot really won't help matters.

I'd like to see Egan and Barbet given a chance together. It seems they can't be trusted to play together though. I understand the reasons why but I'd still be keen to see them given a go.

DS has already said he's going to rotate the squad, so difficult to predict, other than it'll be quite different from Sat. I just hope he doesn't shake it up too much, we get tonked and the confidence takes a dive. Having said that, who knows what team Holloway will put out?

With all the injuries we have I think it will mostly be the available team.

I think it would be worth trying Barbet with either Egan or Bjelland in case Harlee goes. Otherwise I would make sure as many of Saturday's team get as much rest as possible!
