Team vs Reading

I’d go for:

Bentley
Dalsgaard Konsa Mepham Barbet
McEachran
Nico MacLeod
Canos Maupay Watkins

Macleod
McEachran
Mokotjo

Benrahma
Maupay
Canos

I think we definitely need to make a few changes from the Arsenal game, as the players put in a great deal of effort and will be tired (remember our poor display at Leyton Orient 3 days after we beat Everton!). Sawyers and Watkins have both dipped in form slightly, so it's a good chance for them to recover ahead of the Birmingham and Leeds games. I also don't think it's wise to start Judge again so soon, but he deserves a league start in one of the upcoming fixtures.

I definitely keep in Mokotjo to reward his performance on Wednesday, while Macleod and McEachran have been very good in our home games so far. Out wide, Canos was very positive on Wednesday too, and Benrahma should be fresh. Meanwhile, Jeanvier is a good player but it's still Konsa and Mepham's shirts to lose IMO.

This team looks good to me, I don't think it will happen though

I'd also give Barbet the weekend off. I think he's played just about every minute of the season so far? Josh C. must be chomping at the bit to get some minutes on the pitch.....

I think he's injured or has been very recently.

Play the first team

Like we should have done on Wednesday

Team vs Reading

Back to the 1st eleven with Jenvier, Canos and Mokotjo waiting in the wings for Tuesday night should anyones performance drop.

Team vs Reading

A return to the 'premier' XI with question marks over Sawyers and Watkins who have looked sluggish over the last two games.

Team vs Reading

Bentley
Odubajo Konsa Mephem Barbet
MacLeod McEachran
Sawyers
Canos Maupay Judge

Team vs Reading

I'd say that only Barbet, Konsa and Sawyers have any chance of starting tomorrow out of those who played 90+4 minutes on Wednesday.

McLeod Sawyers Mcreachan
Benrahma Maupay Watkins

If it ain't broke (and at home it isn't)...

That's assuming none of Wednesday's starters need a rest of course (Watkins / Sawyers in particular)

Team vs Reading

Bentley
Henrik Ezri Meps Barbet
Mceachran
McLeod Sawyers
Said Neal Watkins

Whilst taking no account of fatigue or management of niggling injuries obviously.
Fatigue and management of niggling injuries surely come in to play for every match? If cup competitions are unimportant (as seems to have been the case for many years now), is there any point in still having them?

Sshh. Don't tell the sponsors.....

In the case of the League Cup, no there isn't. I haven't been to a LC tie since time immoral and I'm not planning to go to any in the future either.

Agree that Judge would be more effective in the middle than on the wing but cant see him starting considering the 90mins v Arsenal on Wednesday. Maybe play him Tuesday.

Agree with this. Plenty of options should we need to chase the game or close it down. Also agree that Barbet might need a rest soon but that is one area where we are are short.

Don’t play him there Tuesday!! That’s going to be a tough tough game. They’ve been playing well, just beat Leeds away and will be itching to get one over us. Sat is the game if we want to rest anyone...

Team vs Reading

Resting players?!?!?! We are 9 league games into the season.

We've got 3 v tough games in a week with the toughest one next Sat away at Leeds. We've seen how well we've done generally away after a 3 game week. We've got a v small squad at the moment and we need to manage it. DS hasn't got the rotation right so far, hopefully he does this week as I doubt we'll play the same team for all 3 games..

Tell us more about what was going on the last time you went to a League Cup match. :suspect: :brow:

Thing is, the FA Cup has gone the same way now and is no better. :( Cup football - just nonsense now which is a real shame.
