Team vs Rotherham

maybe a little early to start this... but after watching todays game and reading others reports...

hamer
oyebanjo bennett heywood charles
brown (W) KOC dickson
Connell
Elder Reid

change it around a bit. i know people will complain of leaving poole out of the starting 11, but i think he needs a bit of a kick up the arse to get him going, especially so he knows he wont be guaranteed games next year, and it was dicksons performances at LM that first caught our eye when he arrived.

I don't know why Karleigh didn't start today so is he injured or are you really suggesting we play Oybanjo and Charles in preference to him?

now that the season's over
i'd like to see charlie ide given a chance upfront alongside elder
and dickson starting in his specialist position further forward

a forward combination of connell-ide-elder-dickson
complimented by smith and o'connor must surely have some goals in it

Charles and Ide are out on loan, so there's no chance that they will feature.

How do you know that? He hasn't been scared to ring the changes before, so why now? He tends to pick mostly the same players because we have such a small squad.

Team vs Rotherham

Hamer/Seb Brown
Pead, Bennett, Heywood/Osborne, Dickson
Brown, O'Connor, Smith, Poole
Shakes, Reid

I'd like to see if we can sort out whether Hamer will be a Brentford player next season or not. If he's not going to be a Brentford player next season then see if Seb Brown will be good enough cover for Simon Brown.

Heywood is out of contract and see if he signs (hopefully on reduced terms) then he can stay in the side. If he decides to leave then play Osborne.

Brown could be in AS's plans for next season so give him more time to see if he can play well for us.

Shakes and Reid could play up front. I think Connell needs a rest (he's looked jaded these past few weeks) and Elder can go have his operation meaning he has more preperation time for next season and it removes the possibility of him aggravating it to a degree where he'd be out for longer. I know we've been playing Shakes as a winger but let's see if he can't use his pace to beat the last defender and score. See Brown for Reid.

If AS isn't going to sign them for next year or can't sign them then play someone else instead.

It's 'unlikely' that Hamer will be around next season, given that AS is either playing Brown to 'get him in the shop window' because even he must see that he is sh*te, or getting him match practice because we'll need him next season.

You've found the 'put colour in posts' bit then. The yellow is a bit hard to read.

I've heard that

A)He's going to be offered a deal
B) He doesn't want to be here

If he is going to be offered a deal I think he should play regardless of whether he's likely to sign it, it may entice him to sign.

If (B) he doesnt want to be here, the why should we (A) Bother offering him a deal, let alone play him ?

Team vs Rotherham

2 main principles for me for this and the other remaining:

1) No point playing anyone who won't be here next season (only exception that we should play at least one of Heywood and Bennett even if they might both be off, so that a less experienced CB learns from a more experienced partner)

2) Blood some kids/fringe players/loanees who might be offered a deal, as we won't know if they are up to it without trying them. BUT no more than 3 players of this sort at the same time, as seeing a team of kids get stuffed will help no-one

I doubt if Hamer will stay unless some kind person takes Brown off our hands (PLEASE) as we can't afford 2 full-time keepers on (presumably) decent money.

I have the impression that AS can't rate Reid too highly as he is hardly getting on the pitch even when we are pushing for goals. If Elder needs an op (and with Montague injured and Ide on loan) he might perhaps get a game or 2 now, but I think he is unlikely to stay.

I'm not sure about Sankofa but he must be worth a game at RB to see. Similarly, if there is any chance of Wayne Brown staying, he should get a full game

Team vs Rotherham

.......................a return for Mr Hamer please....................

Team vs Rotherham

I'd like to see this 3-5-2:
Code:
             Hamer
  Osborne Heywood Bennett
            O'Connor
Shakes Mousinho Poole Dickson
         Connell Elder

S: Brown, Pead, Brown, Smith, Reid
as I think it plays to our strengths.
From Saturday's absence I believe Osborne must be injured, but I'm sure he'll be back.

Team vs Rotherham

Is Bennett still with us this saturday or is his loan up?

Team vs Rotherham

Yeh apparently he's off, so that rules out a 3-5-2 I'd have thought.
Oyebanjo in? :fishing:

Team vs Rotherham

Oi Smiffy, did i say you could come back inside?

You make me feel ill... As for the team i believe thier will be a couple of changes, I doubt Heywood will play, going by what he said in his interview earlier, and i hope to see shakes on the bench and Brown given a go, and why not drop the other brown while he's at it to. He should probably think about giving some younger players a go, i would hope to see Ide but i know that's not possible

Team vs Rotherham

Its vitally important our walking wounded, that are staying on, get top notch medical treatment asap, to allow as long as possible for rehab. That means Elder, ? Sankofa, any others? Reid should feature now instead of Elder for last 5 games.

Team vs Rotherham

I'd be inclined to play anyone that is not signed that we are seriously considering offering terms to or want to have playing in some capacity next season.

I hope that Hamer is a possible, and that Heywood has intimated that he would like to stay. I can only assume that Reid isn't in AS' plans as thus far he has hardly used him. I read somewhere before Brown scored that AS had been impressed with him in training and would like to keep him. It maybe paper talk but if he rates him and is planning an offer then he should look at him now and start in his right position. Sankofa, quite honestly, not fussed either way, I only saw him as cover and Karleigh needs to be playing every game as he will be here next year.

So if fit and available

Hamer

Mousinho
Heywood
Osbourne
Dickson

Brown
Kev O
Smith
Poole

Connell
Elder

Oh hell! No point in going in the shop window, as no-one is going to actually pay money for him, and as he gets worse each game he plays, is this going to become another "pay-off"? :(

Go on, put me out of my misery !

Who said what and in which interview ?

Team vs Rotherham

Andy Scott said:
We’ve got people going in this week to see the consultant and we’ll look at things then.

Does this mean that Elder will miss out for the rest of the season ?
Pead too, strikes me as someone playing with/despite an injury.

Team vs Rotherham

Bennett's back in so 3-5-2 please, Andy :sorted:

Team vs Rotherham

AS/club OS have indicated there maybe changes and so expect the unexpected possibly!!

Monty out for the season and some may have ops this month. Hopefully those that need ops do have them now to get fit again this post/pre season.

I wouldn't...............one is not good enough the other is on stoney ground.

Connell on bench today, brown comes in.........

Team vs Rotherham

WTF is AS thinking about?
Shakes as a strker, I dont believe it.

well i believe striker is his official position... it's just we've been playing him on the wing. much like Ide early on in the season.
bit surprised to still see elder in the lineup though... he cant really have recovered can he? or has he?

Team vs Rotherham

Doesn't seem to be anywhere to discuss todays fine result as some heavy handed mod has closed the thread before the reports one has appeared.

Just chat amongst yourselves until someone is back from Rotherham to start it...........
