Team Vs Wolves

I'd start:

Button
McCormack Craig Dean Bidwell
Douglas
Saville Forshaw
Donaldson Trotta Saunders

Subs: Lee, Calvet, Logan, Harris, Toumani, Grigg, Farid

Team Vs Wolves

Yep, drop Harris, that nippy little winger who won't be our attacking outlet across that big pitch, I'm with you.

Team Vs Wolves

Can't argue if he keeps the same starting line up but I would go

Button
Logan Craig Dean Bidwell

McCormack Forshaw Savile

Harris Trotta Donaldson.

Reasons for dropping Harris are thought out although I'm open to criticism. With that sort of player as we've seen happen to the like of Andros Townsend recent and we've seen happen to Bale at Madrid, happens to Walcott too. If the Wolves double up on him, which I'm sure they will if he starts as they're no mugs, he'll effectively be taken out of the game. Happened even on Saturday and he wasn't nearly as affective. Saunders is cleverer on the ball and IMO will create more space for others and himself than Harris will. As the game goes on and Saunders tires, as does the Wolves defence, you bring on Harris as an impact player to either stretch the defence if we're looking for a goal or to alleviate pressure if we're defending a lead.

I've a feeling we will see Toumani.

Bit more strength in midfield.

Possibly George to give way.

Not what I would do, but I think that is what will happen.

Think if we wanted more strength in midfield, we'd drop Harris and play Forshaw at the tip of the diamond to accomodate McCormack or Toumani in midfield, Saville is superb at breaking up play IMO.

Get what you're saying but while they double up on Harris it frees up Sav or Adam.
I do think that Sav has not really played away from home this season to date so can see the logic if he was left out for Toumani but very harsh on George if he's dropped after last couple of games.

that's a fair point about freeing up Sav and Adam. As for Saville, was most effective player at Bristol City away IMO until Saunders came on

Team Vs Wolves

If all fit same again, why change. Let Wolves worry about us.

I agree, he's had a good last month and deserves to start but before that he has struggled on our travels and been very quiet. Having Dougie or Mac behind him and a wide option in
front seems to seems to suit him.

I would anticipate an unchanged team but if he wants more strength in midfield I would prefer he put McCormack in there in place of Saville and reinstated Logan at RB.

Same team subject to illness/ injury please

Button
Macca Dean Craig Bidwell

Same as Saturday if all fit. Everyone realises the importance of consistency. May need a change for Peterborough at home next Tuesday as we could pick up an injury or two, and my need to rest one or two.

Also Rosler has been in the papers criticising the slowness of the Premier league and England. So I expect a high up the field press and speedy passing. This means less of slow possession. Also trotta will run himself into the ground after about an hour as he has been told to close down the opponents goal keeper and central defenders. So will Rosler bring on Grigg or Farid or go for stability with Saunders, moving Donaldson into the centre. Also Harris will tire so again perhaps Saunders for Harris or Fillio. I do love speculating.

My only concern would be that unit Sako down the left wing - he does have plenty of pace about him.

Not one for chopping and changing but either McCormack gets into him straight away to let him know he is there or Logan comes in?

"McCormack gets into him straight away to let him know he is there" !!!

I think the days of "chopper Harris" are long gone. Same team please Uwe.

Team Vs Wolves

Same team for me. This whole, bring on Harris when they tire thing is a bit risky for my liking. What happens if we are 2-0 down because we have no real outlet? It could be over by the time he actually comes on. Asking too much of him.

Although Saville's away performances have been questionable, he deserves another chance - not happening? Early change for Dave.

They will double up regardless, just like we need Donaldson and Mac to keep Sako quiet.

Logan and Harris might do some damage going forward on that big and wide pitch. I would go with the same team, I just hope we don't tuck up and start on the back foot.

I guarantee you Wolves will not double up on Harris. Saunders on a big pitch with his lack of pace would be a terrible decision IMO. Keep the team the same, it's worked why change it? Although saying that I would not object to much if Toumani came in for Saville (or Logan came in and McCormack pushed up, his pace may help on a big pitch) given Wolves play 5 in midfield with Edwards and Macdonald in the middle.

Team Vs Wolves

Same team. No point changing as an understanding is developing. Harris was taken off for an injury, so hopefully he has recovered? Bring on Saunders & Farid in the 2nd half if the game is even or we are losing.

Team Vs Wolves

Shaun Derry (Notts County) was saying on SKY after their defeat that they ( Wolves) rely on the long ball counter attack and didnt have much else. The stats showed that County had most of the first half possession and were unlucky to loose. We are on a great run and the selection should not alter too much barring injury. The big pitch will suit our passing game and Harris has to start. UR likes a little tinkering and he will have done his homework the same as ever. The weather will play a big part as the forcast is not looking that good but we go there in good form and confidence.

Team Vs Wolves

The team's picking itself at the moment. No need to change anything.

Team Vs Wolves

.............do they really have a big pitch???????...........

Team Vs Wolves

Their pitch is 6 yards longer and 1 yard wider than the Griffin Park. Hope that helps.

Team Vs Wolves

.............do they really have a big pitch???????...........

According to the great source that is Wikipedia, it is 1 yard shorter and 3 yards skinnier than our pitch lol

Team Vs Wolves

If it's a skinny pitch play the fatties to counter it, we can't lose.

Team Vs Wolves

Can't see any reason why the manager should want to change the line-up.

Team Vs Wolves

Easy. Same team as last week. Wolves will be more worried about us. They haven't been playing well by all accounts and I think we're now hitting form as well as getting the right result. Confident.

I agree that Harris should not be dropped (no need to change a winning team) but please do away with the myth that big stadiums automatically mean a bigger pitch.

If Wolves double up on Harris then that will free up one of our other players which in turn would create more space for others than Saunders ever would.

I think the real positive, aside from the 5 League wins in a row, is the strength in depth of our bench! Surely we keep the same team and enjoy the consistency we have witnessed in recent weeks. However to have options such as Grigg or Farid, Toumani or Reeves, Logan or Saunders is the real indicator for me as to how far we have improved. We must go to Wolves and seek to impose ourselves on them from the opening whistle and I would love to know what Kenny Jackett is privately thinking about this fixture.

Team Vs Wolves

Anyone know if Wolves rested players in their loosing match against Oldham last night?

4 changes from the team that played Saturday. They did bring in Griffiths, Sigurdarson and Elokobi so I woudn't say they played a particularly weakened side last night.

I honestly believe we have got the best squad in the division that over the course of the season will see Brentford go up as Champions. Mark my words.

He wasn't insane when Jake won MOM at Bramall Lane last season.

must be the way they play, maybe not non-stop pressing like teams at GP. It looks much bigger.

Team Vs Wolves

Sako didn't play last night for Wolves - apparently, according to someone on their forum it is a possible hamstring injury. Henry is already meant to be out injured too.

Granted and brilliant to watch, I know someone there scouting us and them and he reckoned that Jake went into overdrive when there were less players on the pitch and more space, he may have a point as I was at Stevenage where he was bullied into submission.

That was 1 game albeit he played well. Since then however he has hardly set the world alight, the jury is still out imo as to whether he will make it at league 1 level.
