Unbelievable match from Sinner there

Demolishes Ruud the Madrid Champion

6 0 6 1

Tennis

Excellent win for Dan Evans from a set down to continue his DC Open unbeaten run. Justifies the wild card kindly granted off the back of his 2023 tournament victory there.

Tennis

Fantastic day in Washington for the Brits - Emma Dan & Cam all through to the last 16 with wins against seeded players :)

Tennis

Coco Gauff must have one of the worst serves ever for a player of her quality ?

An All British Final in the Men's Doubles in Toronto.

Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski against Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.
Cash and Glasspool currently 1 set up.

Tennis

She only went and Won it !!

Osaka showed extremely bad sportsmanship at the end, not even congratulating Mboko. The difference between the two players was remarkable. Osaka couldn't be bothered, Mboko chased everything, a well deserved win.
A great example of elbows out Canada.

Tennis

Osaka always seems to struggle with some of the more basic human reactions whether she wins or loses in my opinion. Not at ease at all in the public sphere. She should be doing better though as she’s not a youngster or a rookie anymore. The slightly off the cuff remark to the Canadian crowd that you obviously all had a good night etc was surprising considering she was playing a Canadian in the final. Not sure what she expected.

What. The video you posted showed her walking around the net to congratulate the winner.

What. The video you posted showed her walking around the net to congratulate the winner.
Didn't do herself any favors with her speech - which let's be honest is a bad idea asking the loser for her thoughts - she's just lost, let her take her trophy and cash and leave !

I didn't post a video !

To clarify. I don't know if you could see the game in the UK. In the award ceremony she never mentioned her opponent. She by this stage in her career knows the form. Not many people are to impressed by her sulky behaviour.

Tennis

What video in the quote. I again did not post a video. You got it wrong.

Seems quite a ridiculous thing to get angry about, but I hope this picture explains.

So you referred to (quoted) a video in which she congratulated her opponent. Anyway...

Yet again I did not post a video. The reason is I saw it live living in Canada.
So please don't put other peoples comments down to me.
The angry one from the post posting in red appears to be you !

Sinner is something else.

Doesn't quite have Alcaraz's peak level, but his floor is only about 5 steps down from that anyway. Mentally no one near him on the tour. He's up with the absolute greats like Djokovic on that already. Now his challenge is doing it for as long!

He's going to be #1 for a very very long time.

Next 20 slams they both enter. How many are won by not Sinner and not Alcaraz? I'd be backing the under 2.5 easy. Probably ladder it down to 0 as well.

Tennis

It’s beginning to look like all 1000 events start with 128 players, 6 rounds are played and then Sinner plays Alcaraz.

Another win for Sonny Kartal

She is in the contention for British No 1 soon
She will likely already be a new career high next Monday
Just outside Top 50
Could break the Top 50 if she wins 2 more matches in Rome
What a difference a few months makes.
Fran Jones is still playing this week and now has a chance of passing Kartal next Monday
Not sure what has happened to Sonny but her wins have completely dried up

Ranking Points next Monday

33 Emma Raducanu 1546
53 Katie Boulter 1108
80 Sonay Kartal 870
83 Francesca Jones 845
144 Jodie Burrage
161 Heather Watson
255 Harriet Dart (Has never recovered from deodarentgate with Boisson)

Tennis

Fran Jones won again 64 76 v Whitney Osuigwe and is in the quarter finals in Brazil but she has not quite passed Kartal

One little point !!

80 Sonay Kartal 870
81 Francesca Jones 869

Her Quarter Final on Friday is Solana Sierra who some of you may remember knocking out Katie Boulter in Wimbledon

FJ’s having a great spell. Strike while the iron is hot etc. Are there Team events due soon? She’ll qualify on merit at this rate…

The match in which Katie B could barely get a serve in play after winning the first set, although she'd played well to beat the seeded Badosa in round 1!

And, like Sonny K, she's someone else who currently can't find a win for love nor money, which is why she's now dropped to 53 in the rankings.

And the run goes on
Fran Jones won in 2 sets to reach the semi
And also Alex Eala was beaten so Jones now has an unknown player from Indonesia to play in the semi

Fran has now overtaken Sonya Kartal into 73rd in the live rankings.

Jones has started the match
In first set a break down

Tennis

Janice Tjen advanced to her maiden WTA final Saturday in Sao Paulo with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Francesca Jones. There, she'll face off against another first-time finalist in French teenager Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah, who defeated Renata Zarazua in straight sets to advance.

Tennis

Looks like we are going to go one set up in both Fed Cup Singles and lose to USA

Kartal won 1st set

Navarro won the match

Boulter won 1st set

Pegula has made it a set all

Tennis

Good win for Sonay Kartal 3 and 2 against Maya Joint (Aus) and will now face number 4 Seed Mirra Andreeva.

Tennis

Very good 2-set win for Sonay Kartal today against the higher seeded Joint. Andreeva up next for her.
