and well done to the players for applauding the Vale players when they collected the trophy - I was proud of you. (Glory hunters who has already left may have missed this).

I agree with everything you said until the glory hunters bit. I stuck around to clap the few Bees players who came over at the end, but with all due respect I'm not a good loser and didn't want to listen to their fans cheer when they lifted the trophy- the very same fans who failed to observe the minutes silence.

From my own feelings, I was so disappointed with the performance more so than the actual result. The other thing that stuck was the 2 chances at the end. We didn't deserve it but we could have nicked extra time from either chance. But heads up, we got Cambridge on Wednesday and we want 3 points ( & maybe 5 goals) as a pick me up!

I am just annoyed that we are a team that can beat anyone on our day, but other days we are so piss poor we couldn't beat a blind team. We have been to 3 big finals now and on all 3 occasions been taken apart by teams we should be beating easily if we played like we know we could!!!
Why do we pick these games to play the worst we possibly can?
Port Vale are OK but even Oxford would have beaten us yesterday!!

I think it was a combination of things. Firstly, the lads who have come in from injury struggled. Dobbo was fading, Ivar never got in the game and Rowly also failed to stamp his authority. Second was the occasion. Big pitch, great stadium, lots of noise - I think it got to one or 2, Lloydie?? Thirdly the quick goal meant that PV had to come at us. We were unable to get our midfield working effectively and they dominated. Lastly the guys who really did perform above & beyond - Powell, Mahon, Partridge & Theobald (young lad did well) couldn't do it on their own. Their efforts should have inspired everyone around them, but it didn't. Credit to Olly for creating more chances in 90 seconds then anyone else in the 90 mins. I like Lloyd, but Olly made himself a pain to mark when he went forward. Surely a guy as big a Owusu should be doing the same???

Without wishing to undermine Oli's sterling efforts in the last 2 minutes, do you think Port Vale had a plan to mark him if he came upfield? The big attacking advantage of sending the keeper upfield is that it gives you an extra man - and Oli took full advantage.

Agree, but unlike Lloyd, Olli busied himself and was a problem to Vale. Marked or not, he still did far more to damage Vale in the last 90 seconds than Owusu did in the whole match. The main thing that stood out was his enthuiasim to get the ball, not just go up for the sake of it. If Lloyd had that passion throughout the game, instead of falling at the slightest tug, were would have been a different prospect.

Lloyd O - should have been taken off at half tim and replaced by MM, when the writing was on the wall. I feel sorry for the us lot, fans - and Gavin Mahon, who apart from the mistake was a class above !!

Sometimes I do wonder how Lloydie got hero status at GP, after all he is no Deano (or Blis)!!

i can't understand how Partridge does... he runs around with the ball until he loses it, can't shoot and can't pass to his own team either.

Be fair mate, he ran his bolox off yesterday with little or no support most of the time. If Lloyd used his physic the way Scott does, he'd be a decent player

I thought Owusu was a disgrace...........if you can't motivate yourself for a final then you might as well do an Alex Nyarko !!!

The sh*t we put up with... bad journeys, sh*t organisation in Cardiff not to mention the cost involved & he played like that.
I would never play him again, i've never been so annoyed about one player in 28 years of supporting our team !!


It was tough on the injured guys on a heavy pitch , but credit only to Mahon, Partridge, Oli Gott & Theobald. Powell tried hard enough but had one of those days with his passing i'm afraid.

As someone said ,three finals & outplayed each time.

The most annoying thing is that the pitch suited players like Rowlands, Evo & Mahon, who can all spray a decent pass.

He gives his all for the team and that is always appreciated. He may not be the best finisher to have ever graced GP but he has got a superb first touch and I'm sure Andy Scott wouldn't have scored nearly as many as he did this season without him

I'm sorry, clive, but I'm not a glory hunter, but left at full-time cos I was as gutted as a shrimp. I didn't stop singing after we lost the first goal, unlike my peers in the so-called singing section. Brentford - why didn't you sing to get behind the lads??

I was pissed off at the number of Chelsea fans that turned up saying stuff like 'that's why i follow chelsea' and 'this wouldn't have happened at the bridge' [Ref: Car Parking farce].
