On basis of performances this season much to my suprise i would at present prefer to see Hunt playing instead of bean, if the latter can find last seasons form then he would be an automatic choice but at present for whatever reason he seems to have something missing from his game wheras Hunt is playing with an assurance and calmness which has been sadly lacking in others.
Reflected on this all week - David Hunt had a really great game on Saturday against Leeds. I think every touch (bar one) was good, which is pretty impressive. Shame he didn't take more of the free kicks, as he can really pull something out of the hat in those scenarios (Gillingham last year - Norwich this year). looked to be really sharp, would like to see him back in the starting line up personally.
Didn't notice that at all - spotted once the ball being given away, but otherwise pleased to see him backWe must be watching a different game?
Can't agree......he gave the ball away and bottled a number of tackles.
Bean and Kev were just as bad do all three (at the moment) look like they will struggle at this level.
Hunt & Bean
sound like solicitors - or undertakers!
I think we definitely miss Simon Ratcliffe :crazy1:
I honestly dont think Hunt should be anywhere near the first team he didnt make it in to Shrewsbury first team, what is he doing in ours?

Ha ha! You gonk.![]()
Do you go to any games Brentford Bees?
I wasn't totally convinced by Hunt last season but thought he did just enough in the run in to deserve the new contract. What he did or didn't do at Shrewsbury is irrelevant: they are 10th and lost 0-4 today despite having one of the biggest budgets in league 2 - do you trust their manager's judgement?
A more important question would be this: how many games have we picked up points in this season and how many of those was Hunt playing in? I think you may revise your opinion that Hunt isn't good enough once you've looked at the results....
So you think he is good enough
but we have ambitions like everyone in this leauge to get out of it and that is getting promoted
Our ambition at the moment is to stay in this league. To do that we need committed players with bottle. I think Hunt fits that mould and will be vital throughout the season.
Hunt did his job today but gave the ball away too often. A decent squad player but we have better and need better.
O'Connor is certainly more consistent and does that job well. He goes unnoticed but reads the game better, which is why I think AS has him with Bean in the centre, while leaving Hunt to cover the defence. Kev covered Hunt a few times today, as well as dropping into defence when one of the CB's was out of position. Bean is potentially a better player than both of them but it's not showed this season.Who IYHO is better that we have?Im not a Hunt fan btw
Loved this bit:
"I'd spoken to Andy Scott before I signed for Shrewsbury, he seemed to want me here. Then Terry Butcher came into the meeting for about three minutes and I just didn't feel any more. But everything came good in the end."

Can anyone help him with wordpress ?
What has Mr Hunt done wrong......... something must of happened behind the scenes.
I have my reservations about Hunt, but on current form, there's no possibility he could be worse then either Bean or Diagouraga.

Shame after his performance against Wednesday and the games coming thick and fast!
