The difference last night

Can be summed up in one word. Talbot. Not knocking Fitz, but Talbot was the difference between no points & one.

Talbot's passing was as good as I have ever seen him. Theres no doubt that he is an important influential part of the side, however, his passing has been dreadful at times this season. Last night was a 1000% improvement. Keep it up Stuart!

I think it's his positional sense. For someone who barely gets above a jog, he reads the game so well that he's always where he needs to be.

Wherever he's played in his career he has been popular and you can see why. He must have been formidable in his hey day before the injuries slowed him up. A "Terry Hurlock" type of midfielder who never shirks his responsibility, even when his limitations let him down.

The best thing that the Clown ever did was to sign Talbot (altho' I suspect that someone like John Griffin was the main influence in getting him to the club, rather than the Clown). Talbot was probably the main reason that we stayed up last year (apart, perhaps, from MA's arrival and motivational brilliance!), and halves like yesterday's first half show exactly why he plays such a vital role in the team.

IMO, it will always be a problem for us if 2 (at least) from Hutch, Hargreaves and Talbot do not start any first team match. I'm still not totally convinced about all three starting at home when available, but it definitely seems to be working in away games.

Let's hope that Talbot's still got a couple of decent seasons left in him.

Talbot was good when he came on, and showed how important he is to us. We were a much better side when he came on, i just wish he was a few years younger.
