is gonna be John Mackie from Orient

Griffiths only started 6 games for Bournemouth and that was in 2006.![]()

Some of their fans were disappointed to see him released, which is a good sign (having said that, some Bournemouth fans were disappointed to see Griffiths released). Apparently he was instrumental in their promotion winning season in 05-06.
We nearly signed him in January 2002 from Reading if I recall.

Sodje 'always' got sent off for Margate, would you rather we hadn't signed him?
Personally I think Mackie would be a good signing, he's not past it at 30, he's a good organiser and although he doesn't have too much pace, he could be the sort of player to compliment Karleigh or someone with pace very well.
Can't say I'd be too keen on a Mackie/Heywood partnership though, IMO you have to have at least one centre back with the legs to chase back.
Yes I was at Brentford for four seasons, a long time ago. My career was finished by injury but I can still vividly remember being told my contract was not being renewed. It hurt like hell even though I knew what was coming so I have every sympathy from anyone from a school boy to a senior pro who gets that news!
What thread is that?Hmm anyone read the last post of that thread
wonder who this feeringo is:computer:

Woohoo! A Mackie and Heywood partnership!! Now we're motoring...![]()
Ok Yeah But Mackie Comes Across As A Huge Liability,
Just Like Andy Myers A Few Years Ago.

I can almost hear Chapman from here lol
I understand the reservations regarding longer contracts but if we want experienced pros mixed with youngsters and we offer 1 year deals, we'll have no hope of getting them in. As long as the people are right it shouldn't matter. If it's the likes of Brooker and Heywood again then we're in trouble.
I seem to recall that last season we massively lacked a decent ball winning centre half. I don't know if people expect us to be signing Dystin or Ben Haim but we are now in the bottom division.
If the bloke wants to win a football match then he is a step in the right direction.
Point taken on two year contract however.
