The Matchday Programme 2012/13

There isn't much else to cheer tonight so, looking on the positive side, the club deserves some praise for a much improved match programme this season. The over busy migraine inducing mess of last seasons design is gone and we have clean uncluttered pages in a readable format and the addition of some interesting new features. I particularly liked the last word piece (the programme has lacked a proper comment feature for too long), the archive photo page and, at long long last, the reintroduction of proper write ups and stats for each member of the opposition's squad. Despite the high page count previous seasons programmes have seemed a bit light on reading. This seems to offer more.

Any reason our season finishes mid April this year according to the programme?

At least it's a money maker. Charges for adverts but then doesn't place them. Good work commercial bodies.

The Matchday Programme 2012/13

Apologies for the omission of the advert. We are aware of a couple of issues which will be put right in time for Saturday's programme. If you could please contact the Commercial Manager (if you haven't already done so), Mike Sullivan, on [email protected] he will ensure that we rectify any errors.

To be fair ownership of issue taken last night and given its the first game, no lasting damage has been done.

A swift kick in the right area of the editors anatomy may work wonders.

Looks very good - at last, I can read it without having to hold the programme at arm's length to try and decipher the miniscule white print on a red background!!

I reckon the layout and design promises to be as good as it has ever been.

Just read through the programme, from yesterday's game, It's an improvement and the articles are good and easy to read. Keep it up!!

Layout decent but far less in it than for many clubs. How do they get so much to go in them? - In recent seasons thinking of the likes of Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and Exeter.

Tuesday's prog had a couple of minor glitches the proof reader should have spotted, but yesterday's seemed ok apart from the L1 table where we are supposed to have goals for and against at home 1 and 1. And lost our one away match but with GF/GA 0/0! The columns are headed incorrectly, but, again, the prood reader should have spotted it.

However the overall design is much better and the reading easier on the eye. As mentioned above the away players details much better.

Enjoyed the progs this season so far. Benham interview was good and I'm looking forward to the second part next time. The bit on the ref and previous meetings with Crewe were interesting. One error I noticed was on the back page where player statistics has a heading for LDV games, that should say JPT but obviously that is a minute error.

What was wrong with the league table was that the first column (a "2" for each team) should not have been there and all of the home and away stats should have been moved one to the left. Then the "GD" should have been put in correctly and all would have been hunky dory! Apart from that, though, I spotted a number or errors in the interview pages, but the programme has, for a few years now, had a number of errors that should have been spotted by a good proofreader, so I suspect that either no proofreader is used or, if one is used, he/she is pretty useless or ripping off the club!

Love this season's programme. read it cover to cover on the way home. The guest columns are amusing. Warbo often has some good points to make. The interviews are good - didn't think I'd bother reading what our sponsor had to say last home match but it was a really good example of what our club is all about. Keep it up BFC.

Common tactic of most drug dealers... First one's free to get you hooked. Bad times.

Billy Reeves article always a great read and different from the usual 'club speak/match reports' found in other publications

Doesn't that make the editor some sort of peddler/pusher? Bad times indeed

Like Billys column the best but the CEO and Sporting Directors columns always make interesting reads. Good to see the correct notes from Uwe in this issue ;-)
